Nobody wants to be a debbie downer but, come on. Sometimes we need to vent it out, right? Spawning off the Best Things of 2014 post, let's talk about the worst things of 2014...and go.

1. My husband got laid off
2. My job changed and not for the better.
3. We are almost paying an extra mortgage in premiums just to have health care every month. -
1. DH took a unexpected paycut, it hit our family hard.
2. LO had to have 3 surgeries, also causing a financial hit on our family. (should note, she's fine, these are scopes for her EE, and even more frustrating that we don't see symptoms of it anymore but they still put her under for these tests.)
3. I lost my grandpa very unexpected on Christmas Eve. -

1. LO #2 was hospitalized in the ICU for 5 days when she was 2 months old due to suspected menningitis. Thankfully she's ok now.
2. We have moved countries and the stress has been harder on all of us than expected
3. Movers lost one (?!?) of my favorite rain boots and the style is no longer madeThe fact that all I could come up with for #3 was the boot indicates I had it pretty good I suppose!

1. My first IVF failed in January
2. My grandmother passed away in March
3. My second IVF failed, also in MarchI've been sort of head-in-the-sand about my IF since March, so it's really been a good year since then, overall.

All deaths:
My BFF lost her brother to suicide, a dear grandmother figure at my church died after a surgery, we had a m/c on our 1st anniversary, & I lost another friend to suicide this fall. -
1. A super rough year with my 5/6 yr old - bedtime battles, co-sleeping, defiance issues, separation anxiety, etc....
2. Job cut at work - then got new job which I hate
3. Spending gobs of money on a rental we have in VA - renter doesn't cover mortgage so we shelled that out - it hurt!
4. So many car problems = so much money!
5. Rough patch with DH - I think 1-4 wore on us and it effected the marriage
ok, so that was more than 3 - ha!
I am so hoping 2015 is our year!!!!

1. I lost my pregnancy.
2. Dh's work related stress shot through the roof. His plant has gone way downhill. It's been hurting home life. Today was supposed to be our Christmas morning because he's been working for the past 3 days and we were out of town on Christmas Day. Five minutes after I woke up he got called because something is down and too many people are on vacation. I guess it doesn't matter that he is suppose to be.
He's job hunting. I'm hopeful 2015 brings him a great new job.I can't think of a third, which I guess shows me 2014 could have been worse.

3. My dad has had an awful year with a knee replacement that became infected, additional surgery, and will now need a spacer put in and eventually a second replacement. It's been so hard to watch him go through it.

My cat got hit by a car in front of my house and was brutally crushed to death.

My son died, nothing else that happened compared.

My uncle and several other close family and friends passed away this year, all from cancer. CANCER SUCKS.
Wagon Sr. is getting a colonoscopy in January. Way too much colon cancer leading to early death in his family. Even though his mom had a clean scan this year, I'm terrified.
I do have to say, as breathtakingly sad the loss of my uncle was this year, this thread does help put everything into perspective for me. I'm so sorry for everyone's losses and misfortune this year. I'm toasting to a much better 2015.

to you.1. My son was born deaf. What stung was that I insisted to the MFM before he was born that he couldn't hear and they laughed at me. Every time I brought up an issue they laughed and said everything would be perfect and I should stop obsessing. (I wouldn't change him, but the doctors I saw treated us so horribly.)
2. His hospital stays, first for surgery at a month old and then for apnea.
3. The constant cycle of being told I was just an anxious new mom and then after a lot of fighting and being worn down, that I had it right.

My "worst" things this year pale in comparison to most of you. *Hugs* everyone!
1. My grandma passed away.
2. Our house was broken into while we were out of town visiting my family (such a violation and a pain to deal with).
3. DH has had some not so fun medical issues (emergency appendectomy while on the other side of the country from me, inflammation and fluid issues in a couple joints that they can't diagnose, dental fillings, etc).

1. My son had several minor health issues after being born. Too fast heartbeat, dairy and soy allergies, and a fever at 6 weeks that resulted in a hospital stay. So we've hit our 5k out of pocket max on top of a 4k birth.
2. My dog got really sick in January. She recovered thankfully, but it was expensive and really scary.
3. I had pre-e and thought I was going to die. But I didn't, so yay.
