It's the only car I've ever owned! I've always lived in a major metropolitan area, and didn't own or drive a car until 2 years ago when our DD was born.

Toyota echo ( technically not new since it was the test drive model and had 5k miles on it when my parents bought it for me)
Honda Accord (purchased while pregnant with dd trading in my high school car 13 years later)
Honda Odyssey (purchased after my accord was flooded and totally in a natural disaster)

2012 Fiat, which I still have. I didn't own a car until my late 20s. Used my parents' car in high school, and didn't need one in college or in NYC after college

My husband and I both tend to get bored with cars right about the same time we stop having payments on them Which is particularly annoying since we are on the same schedule and have historically gotten two new cars at the same time. In 2015 we bought my Pilot and my husband bought an Audi A7 about 6 months later. We did buy his outright so we didn't have two payments going at the same time any more. Going forward we will probably start leasing cars given our tendency to want to switch it up every few years.

Gosh, I haven't had a car for most of my adult life.

12 years of driving. Honda was purchased with a lot of help from my parents while I was in high school. DH and I bought the Nissans together and we share them based on what we are doing. Though I default to the rogue more often than not.

I have had bad luck with cars; each new car was the result of something messed up on the old car that was out of my control. It hasn't been so bad bc, I'm like @Truth Bombs: and kind of get sick of my cars after 5 years or so. However, this means I have literally always had a car payment except for the few months between when I paid off the VW and when VW bought it back from me (diesel).
Fingers crossed on the subby! My realistic goal for keeping is 8 years. Thankfully it will be paid off in about 18 months too! I'm hoping it's my last non-electric car
