Names he automatically shut down for our girl:
Kellan (I'm still obsessed with this name, I would have a it if he had no say!)
Elodie
Elyse
Alice

SO many. Ones I love that he shot down for girls are Eleanora (nn Nora), Livia, Everly, Isla.
For boys he shot down Benjamin, Brody, Jacob, and Everett

he shoots down everything i had wanted to use isla since high school and it sounds SO GOOD with our last name but he's completely anti. also for the majority of my pregnancy i thought her name might be Rose because he was totally on board... in January he all of a sudden decided he's gonna veto it. I jokingly call her Hazel because he HATES it for some reason so that was out! There are very few names he hasn't vetoed.

I don't remember all of them, but he shot down Zara which made me sad.

Beatrice. I loved the name since I was in college, but DH immediately vetoed it.
I guess it worked out because my sister named her baby Beatrix.

Josephine. I LOVE that name so much, and he is just not a fan. I tried and tried to convince him, but no luck! Although our daughter's name is perfect for her, I'm still jealous of the mamas naming their kids Josephine/Jo/Josie. Ha!

Vesper and Carys. I was really into more unique names for girls (ended up with a boy so it didn't matter )
Surprisingly, he still likes the name River for a girl so maybe if we decide to try for one more...

Ellie, Eleanor, Jonathan, Benjamin and so many more.

Katelyn Makenna and Caroline Ruby were the two he vetoed the most.
I vetoed Gyrinophilus, so I guess we are even.
pomegranate / 3212 posts
He vetoed some of my favorite Irish names! Oona, Noula, Macaulay (I know I know) and Eamonn.

For DD1: Stella, Claire as a first name, Emily
For DD2: Beatrice/Beatrix, Susannah, Imogen, Alice

Henry and George - I love both of them and he thinks both sound like little old men.
On his end, he's always wanted a boy named Troy. That got a big fat veto from me.

This was before I was even pregnant, but he shot down Amos for a boy - said it sounded too much like an unpleasant part of the anatomy, which is a fair critique.

@Pancakes: I love both Stella and Claire is at the top of our girls' list!
pomelo / 5084 posts
@mrschickpea: oh i have a whole list but dw also rejected noel, which i love, and felicity (yes yes i know. but it's my favorite show of ALL TIME!).
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
He rejected them all. Basically, if it wasn't a name he came up with, he didn't like it.

@lamariniere: Also Vivienne! DH worked with lots of Vivians and wasn't a fan. My top choice for both girls was Leila but it was shot down both times, no explanation provided.
With each daughter we really only agreed on a few names - two first name options for DD1, and only one for DD2 after we decided not to recycle the second choice from DD1

Like all of them.
Most recent one was "Atticus".
He said, "What, we're gonna put him in the Atticus? Hey Atticus, go to your atticus."
<_< Jerk. LOL

Rory, for a boy. although upon further reflection I guess I'm glad we didn't go for it :). I still think it's a sweet name for a boy, though!

@stiletto_mom: lol! Aw, Atticus was another of my favorites but alas, our last name ends in -is so it goes in the pile with Alice, August and Hollis *sigh*

All of them ... even the one we named our daughter I managed to browbeat him into it!

My husband hates pretty much ALL names, I've decided. He's a teacher too! A middle school one, which I think makes it worse I'm an elementary school teacher, and the only name I've ruled out is Malik.
Our girls names are Juliana Ruby, Jasmine Pearl, Juniper Rose (still ehhh on that one but he loves it), and Jade Amber.
Our boys names are Granite and Slate, but not sure about that last one. Boys names are SO HARD! We like nature-oriented names, and I love Asher and Mason, but he has currently vetoed those... I'm still rooting for them!

@mrschickpea: Years and years ago, I came across a nice boy's name "Damascus".
Hubby says "Like a dumb ass kiss?"
And into the no pile... thanks hun.

@wrkbrk: That is hilarious. I just rewatched season 1 on DVD.
My DH vetoed Mira, my favorite girl name of all time. Apparently it sounds like "go" or something in Spanish? He also vetoed Revi for a girl. And pretty much every other name I came up with.

Girls:
Alba ("that's a name?") umm yeah, that's why I suggested it!
Makena
Marlowe

I have a lot of names saved up for future cats, dogs, and kids' baby dolls thanks to my husband's vetoes:
Frances (nn Francie)
Molly ("That's a dog name.")
Sylvie
Bridget
Simon

@stiletto_mom: bahaha, nice name but I can definitely see his point!
@DesertDreams88: I LOVE Juniper! My Boston Terrier's name is June and we call her Juniper, but if not, I would be all over that name for a baby girl!
grapefruit / 4361 posts
@lbl: your suggestion of Mira makes me think of a student I had named Maribel. .... loved that name but it was vetoed too!!
@mrschickpea: thanks for the encouragement re: Juniper! We would call her June.
apricot / 375 posts
Oh man...most recently? Abigail.
But there have been more where he has actually laughed at me for suggestion them! I can't think of any at the moment, but I'm a teacher so I have a hard time with names! Sometimes I am grasping at straws trying to not use a student name!
But I really do like Abigail!
grapefruit / 4355 posts
So many! Especially girls names. I don't remember all of them but the one I was most sad about was when he vetoed Miranda.
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
Sawyer (boy)
Marco
Juliet
And he liked Callum at first but now he is saying no! That's my favorite pick for a future boy. I'm so sad lol
