I love the name, know one who is a wonderful person, and have never heard the "i moan" thing!

He's right..... it is.... but its not something that has ever sprung to my mind or been brought to my attention before and I've known a couple of Naomis over the years. I think its a lovely name!

Naomi almost made my edited top girls list. I think of the beautiful Naomi Campell and talented Naomi Judd. I even has positive color associations with the name. The name Rocks!

Ha, I immediately thought of "I moan," but I think I've seen Van Wilder like 100 times. I think it's a lovely name though. I'll be immature in my head whenever I hear it though.

My name is naomi! I have heard this a few times but only when I was older after van wilder came out since it is a quote from that movie.

Otherwise, I get compliments on my name all the time and it means "beautiful, pleasant and delightful"

I think it's cute! And kids are going to pick on WHATEVER name you choose, so I wouldn't worry about that!

I think that's such a stretch for a teasing. If kids are going to go to the lengths to spell your name backwards to come up with a tease, then you are screwed. They will figure something out no matter what your name is. Geez, for me, they just added on words that started with the same letter as my name. Naomi is beautiful!
