When did your LO start taking longer naps? We only get 25-50 min naps around here.
I've heard nap consolidation can start to happen around 3 months, but I'm curious about others experience.

6 months and he usually has two 45 min naps in the morning and a 1.5 hour nap in the afternoon. I look forward to him moving to two longer naps.

7 months when I moved him to 2 naps. until then I had never gotten a nap longer than 40 min. (besides the first couple weeks)

8 weeks and her naps are ALL over the place. We might have a day where she takes two 3 or 4 hour naps (rare) and then there are days when she takes 1 half hour nap (more common )
Average is about 2-3 hours though. It's just not consistent at all. I will love when they are predictable.

At 5 months we're getting three. 30-45 min naps. I'm really hoping they get longer!

@starberry: we didn't see nap consolidation until about 5.5 months when he started sleeping on his tummy. it was a slow process.

I am sad to report that 45 minutes was a "good" nap around here until LO was 12 months. Then she got down to one nap and was able to stretch it to 90-120 minutes most days...

LO is 6 months tomorrow! Recently she dropped her 4th 30 minute nap of the day, and we've been getting a good 60-90 minute nap in the mornings pretty consistently for the last week or so. I'm hoping it sticks!

Around 6 months he went down to three naps. At 10 months 2 naps, and now at 16months he takes one 2-3 hour nap

@junebugmama: I'm so scared to transition to 1 nap! J is still taking 2 good naps but his morning one has shortened to in and around an hour. Sometime less.

@Mrsjets: Jax was doing the same thing. He would take about a 30 minute nap around 10am. However, cutting down to one nap, has certainly made our bedtime routine shorter (except when teething). It's also nice to get a big chunk of time to myself. He naps from about 11:30 to 2 everyday

@junebugmama: I will have to try it out, I'm pretty sure he's ready. I can't believe how fast they've grown

My daughter was close to 8-9 months before she started taking naps longer than 30 minutes, and she didn't consistently take long naps until she dropped down to one nap per day at 1 year. Some kids take longer than others. I tried everything, but in our case we just had to wait for our daughter to take the lead.
