Baby Z is 13.5 weeks old and has been sleeping through the night for about a month now--thank goodness! She's been a good little sleeper for the most part. She's not much of a napper, but we manage to get at least 2 hours throughout the day and combined with her 10-12 hr stretches at night, she gets her recommended 14 hrs/day.
So, I know you're not supposed to rock a baby to sleep, but on a normal day, it takes less than 5 minutes of rocking with a pacifer and white noise to get her down. I keep wavering between whether we should just put her in the crib awake and go with some formal nap/sleep training or continue our seemingly easy rocking routine. When we put her in the crib, she wakes up due to the separation from us, but I stick the pacifier in her mouth, maybe shush her for a second and she's out for a 45 min nap or for the night.
Would love to know others thoughts on this routine and whether I'm setting myself up for some awful sleep patterns int he months to come.
Thanks, as always!
