We are looking at planning a girls trip for this fall to visit Nashville for a long weekend. Any tips on places to stay, eat, visit? We would like to stay somewhere that is mostly walking distance or a cheap taxi ride so somewhat central location.

I'm not from Nashville but I just did a girls' trip there and went with my husband last year. My sister and I LOVED the Renaissance downtown Nashville and I also liked the Sheraton. We liked staying near downtown because we were into doing all the touristy things. With my husband we stayed most of the trip at the Loews Vanderbilt and I did not like the location. We ended up one night at the Sheraton.
We loved the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Johnny Cash Museum and especially the Nashville Pedal Tour. I've done it twice now and it's one of the most fun things I've ever done on a trip. I've also heard good things about the winery although we didn't go.
Restaurants we liked: The Southern, Husk, Acme Feed and Seed, Hattie B's Hot Chicken, and Puckett's Grocery.
We hit a bunch of bars on Broadway and some on Demonbreun and didn't have a bad time anywhere.

My two favorite areas to walk around, have lunch, window shop are 12south and Hillsboro Village. Biscuit Love and Frothy Monkey are good brunch places. Also highly recommend Acme that hotchildinthecity mentioned

@hotchildinthecity: Thank you! I'm writing these all done so I have them. We are shopping flights now and still trying to narrow down exact dates but these will be great. I for sure what to do all the touristy stuff and go to the Country Music Hall of Fame too.
@runnerd: Thank you I'm marking these down too!

I would suggest staying at the Omni. It's the newest hotel downtown and the only one downtown with a pool. It's not cheap but it's beautiful and has two great restaurants in the hotel.

@Truth Bombs: the Sheraton and the Renaissance actually both have pools as well but they are indoors
that was one of our requirements in a hotel!

@LuLu Mom: The Omni is awesome. I stayed there this past spring. They have a great rooftop pool and a cool bar and restaurant inside the hotel. We weren't able to do a pedal tavern because they were sold out but it looks awesome! Have fun!

@hotchildinthecity: Ah, yes, should have clarified. Indoor pools don't count to me
Though I guess it depends how early in the fall the OP is coming to town.

@Truth Bombs: we went in March so it was a little cool for an outdoor pool.

@Truth Bombs: Sounds awesome but we are thinking November so outdoor pool really isn't big on our list! ha but we will look into the hotel regardless as it sounds awesome!
