@Espion: he is really great at making friends with the nurses to be sure he gets picked up and played with a lot! He also has a very expressive frown (which DS1 did too, hence the nickname beaker face and my username) which drives them all crazy.

@Mrs Green Grass: "it depends" ... I wish I had a dollar for every time they said that! But really hopefully not too long. The section of intestines they removed is relatively small and far down, which they said should make it easier to begin working again since the food will be more digested by the time it gets there.

@lemondrop: he's doing good with food so far! He's only getting 1ml/hour, and then after five days of that they'll increase it. In other good news the nurses haven't suctioned him out in three days, which means he's swallowing his own spit, which is promising for him starting oral feedings! An OT is going to work with him and hopefully he'll pass his next swallow study.
