Might not be your cup of tea, but I love sci-fi shows and recently started watching Farscape on Netflix haha. It totally sucked me in! It is much better than I had expected.

@MamaG: I agree! I liked Brothers and Sisters but I have a hard time recommending a show that just ends without closure. I've heard the same thing happened to Friday Night Lights.

The Good Wife (not sure if this has been mentioned?)I really like all the USA TV shows, to be honest. Covert, Suits, White Collar, Burn Notice. Although full disclosure they tend to go kind of crazy after a few seasons.

The Walking Dead@fairy: Oooh, just saw you're watching Farscape! Enjoy! Hubs and I JUST finished watching it. I had seen it before and it's one of my favorite shows! The mini series Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars isn't on streaming though, just for warning.

I have to say go with Orange is the New Black. DH and I both loved it. So do my parents and inlaws. -
I am going to agree with previous poster(s) that House of Cards has no redeeming characters in it-- for that reason, I only watched the first season.
I also agree with other posters that the USA Network shows are good options for watching with DH-- we used to watch Burn Notice and White Collar together on a regular basis. They aren't award-winning shows but both were light/entertaining/escapist shows that don't require a lot of brain activity (which is a good thing from my perspective). I watch Covert Affairs on occassion--DH only watched a season of that, I think.

@fairy: Yes, it was on after the series ended, so it wraps up some story lines and stuff. I think you can get the DVD through Netflix if you have that. It's 3 hours long I think.
