My nips were never torn up, but for some reason disposable pads sent shooting pains up my boobs. I used bamboobies exclusively the first few months, and now use them interchangeably with Laninoh disposables.
Honeysuckle bags are hands down the best storage bags. They're much thicker than Lansinoh and the zipper is more secure.

Also, when you're in the hospital, ask for FREE pump parts. The LC gave me a whole bag of extra Medela pump parts.

@lawbee11: Definitely depends on how much you leak! I have 6 organic pads and 2 medela and use basically a pair a day.

Just commenting so I can come back and write this all down (registry completion FTW!)

@lawbee11: I bought 2 packs of the TLC ones and 6 pair of the bamboobies. So I had 12 pairs all together and I was washing them once a week. I would use one during the day and one at night. It will just depend on how much you leak. I eventually stopped leaking all together around 3-4 months pp. I wouldn't buy too many in case you don't like them. Or just have some disposable ones on hand to begin with. I know a lot of people don't like the washable ones.

@bisous: @mrskc: Thanks! I think I'll buy a pack of the TLC ones and a pack of disposables and just see which ones I like better!
