My 18 month old started waking at 4am for the day consistently a few weeks ago. We pushed his bedtime back an hour to 7pm for the last 3 nights and it got worse! Now he wakes at 2am for the day. If he falls back asleep it's spotty and only for 20 minutes or so then he's up!

He normally takes a 2-3 hour nap but I didn't want to cut that out for fear that lack of daytime sleep would mean worse nighttime sleep? Today after 21 days straight of this we asked the nanny to keep him up though.

He drinks whole milk and eats a variety of solid foods, a good amount of fat and protein and we feed him as late as possible. Middle of the night wake ups are a bottle change and tuck back in.

What are we doing wrong?? What should we try?
