Warning, this is going to be long. Guys, I really need some sleep help!! Last week sleep was awesome, one waking to eat around 4/5am then right back down until 6:30ish. It was amazing and I thought we were on our way to STTN. BUT, the last few days LO has been reverting back to her old sleep ways and I don’t know what it is or what I am doing wrong! She is 26 weeks, 6 months, and I know there is a 26 wonder week, so not sure if that has something to do with it or not, but I am just sooo tired and when she sleeps awesome for a few weeks or a few days in a row, I get excited and hope it sticks, but it seems to just disappear so quickly and I have no clue what to do anymore.
Here is our bedtime routine: Bath, Lotion/PJs, Nurse and Book. Last week I started reading a book to LO during our nursing session so she stays completely awake while nursing and goes into the crib completely awake, and not just drowsy but awake. She took to it great and goes down without a fuss, usually asleep by 7pm. She sleeps great until 3am (so about 8 hours), wakes around 3am to nurse/diaper change, and then I put her back into crib. She puts herself back to sleep after her first feeding, but wakes up pretty much every half hour or so and will not go back to sleep without being nursed or rocked. It alternates between playing in her crib, to rolling around, to crying. I’ve tried to just let her go and see if she will put herself back to sleep, but when I have to wake up at 5:30am to go to work, it’s so much easier for me to just nurse her. BUT I pretty much don’t sleep from 3am onwards because she is up so much and I am exhausted! Is this something I just need to let her CIO for? I know I need to be more consistent in what I do at this time, and I am ready for a plan, but I just don’t know the best way to go about it. I don’t get why she can put herself back to sleep at nighttime and after her feeding, but keep waking up and not being able to go back down without me at these early times. Any advice would be appreciated!!!!
