So my DH and I live in a townhome community with small fenced in yards with an grassy common space between the buildings that back up to each other. Just so y'all have a picture of how it's laid out. We have been finding cigarette butts, empty packs, and just today a cigar stub in our backyard on one side of the yard. The first 3 times, we threw them back over to see if it would stop. Well, it didn't.

So the 4th time we found them, my DH went over and knocked on their door and no one answered. So I wrote them a note telling them to tell their friends that the space over the fence is not a trash can and that we would appreciate it if they would stop.

This morning, we found more butts. This afternoon we found another empty back and the cigar stub! I am really getting pissed off at this point and I'm planning on sending my DH over tomorrow to see if they will talk with us.

Anybody have any ideas on what else we could do? I've heard from other neighbors that our HOA rep for our neighborhood sucks and doesn't really help/is hard to get a hold of, so I'm skeptical on going that route. Would the cops be able to do anything?

I'm so frustrated!
