I know there are some new bees around here, and I bet there are some lurker bees that need to come out and join us! Say hello!

Hi! I'm a long time lurker.
I have a five month old daughter who arrived at 36+5 by emergency c section. I had been in labour for a little while when it was identified that she was facing the wrong way and her heart rate would drop with each contraction.
I also had a velamentous cord insertion and there was concerns that if it lay across my cervix it would detach. Apparently, it was, so it was lucky I ended up with the c section!

Hello! I've been lurking around for awhile. I have a ten month old daughter and I stay at home with her for the most part but recently started working about 8 hours a week. We are moving in a month and the baby is all over the place so keeping her occupied, packing, and the day to day of staying at home is pretty much our life at the moment!

@jupiter: welcome! I loved that age with my DD. I also work very part time. It's great but daycare coverage can be a juggle.

@youboots: Going back to work a few hours a week has been SO great. I've been lucky with childcare so far. My mom usually watches her and if she can't my husband takes PTO. Especially with winter coming I just know I will find myself in a pickle at some point with no one to watch her. I know we need a backup plan, although I haven't made any effort to come up with one.

I'm pretty new but I've been lurking since before my first was born and he's 18 months now! Baby 2 is coming in March and has essentially sucked my recent aspirations for work promotion out the window since it is more energy/effort than I have now. There's been some reorgs and now I'm just creating my niche dream job because I have the seniority to do as I like

@The Dowager Countess: Welcome! And wow, I had never heard of a velamentous cord insertion before... I googled it and it sounds so scary. Glad everything worked out!!
@jupiter: Packing is the worst, and you're brave to do it with a baby and a job!
@codeitall: Good luck with your dream job!!

Long time lurker, I was also a lurker on weddingbee. I have commitment issues haha.
I'm pregnant with my first, due April 3, 2017. I'm more on the March boards because original due date was March 21 based on LMP. I live in the great PNW, in the country. I am a SLP (Speech Language Pathologist) that works in the public schools with kids impacted by severe disabilities. And....my two chocolate labs are the loves of my life (aside from my husband).
