So we've lived in our house for 5 years now and have been planning on replacing our white tile counters with granite since day one...we've just never gotten around to it

I also want to replace the flooring in our entry way, kitchen, and family room. The entry and kitchen are standard early 90s builder grade porcelain tile and the family room is beige carpet. I would like to replace them all with hardwood.

Now that we have a baby coming in October, we feel we need to pick one to get done before the baby arrives. Would you rather have new floors or new counters?

Other things to consider:
-This is not our forever home; we will likely not be here more than another 5 years
-we have refinished the kitchen cabinets from early 90s oak to a darker espresso color. Granite would look better with it, but I don't think the current tile looks bad with it.
-the other major update/improvement we've done to the house is replacing the carpet in the master bathroom with tile.
