I'm scheduled to get a haircut today and LO will hopefully be here in the next couple of weeks. Wondering if I should just get a trim or if I should go for a shorter cut or different style. My current style is past my shoulders with heavy bangs it is easy to put up into a bun/ponytail.
Did you get a new easier style when you were a new mom? Any recommendations?

I got mine cut in a bob, right above my shoulders. Still long enough to pull back if needed, but not so long my only way of fixing it was putting it up in a bun. It helps with the pp hair loss. I can't imagine what my shedding would be like if I kepty hair long.

Nope! I have kept my hair long (to the middle of my back) . . . both LO and hubs love it.

I for sure would make sure you can put it up in a ponytail/bun! Other than that I have no advice--I'm getting my hair cut this weekend for the 1st time post partum...and LO is `14.5 months old!

I just got mine cut to just above my shoulders- like 3-4 inches off. It's the shedding that did me in- in so tired off using clumps if Lin hair everywhere. Before I'd just put it in a ponytail and not care. Once I started shedding (4 months pp) it got so thin and annoying, so I chopped it.
C does love to grab a chunk f hair but it was about the same long or short.

Have you ever had short hair before? I decided to grow my hair out when expecting ,because when my hair is shorter (shoulder-ish bob) I have to blow dry it nice and straighten it or it looks ridiculous. Whereas with long hair, I can air dry it. I don't have the time to shower every day, definitely dont have time to blow dry unless someone's here to help. And even when it's pulled back LO finds a way to pull my hair (grabs the base of my neck hair... ouch) so that's not going to matter the length!

I kept mine long because it's easier to look decent without much effort. I can let it air dry and throw it back into a ponytail rather than having to blowdry and style it.

I chopped mine while pg and regret it!! It would have been much easier to do a pony tail than have short hair that needed to be styled.
That being said I do miss my short hair now that I'm growing it out

I had hair to my hips... so I took off length at 28 weeks and again when LO was a couple months old I got more layers and shortened it to ...breast length you could say? I was glad because it doesn't take as long to shower.

My hair grew like crazy during my pregnancy and postpartum so when I had several inches taken off and a lot of shape/layers added, but made sure I could still pull all of it into a ponytail. I just felt really scruffy with a long sheet of shapeless hair and it took forever to dry and style. Now it still takes some effort but it's much quicker and I only was ever other day - hence the ponytail

I had mine trimmed/cut and thinned out because I have really thick hair. I made sure it was still long enough to be put in a ponytail because ponytails are lifesavers as a mommy!

i cut mine when i start the dread shed. really short bob, shorter in the back than the front. with side swept bangs. i loved it! it was super easy and looked really chic. now i'm growing it out again.

I kept it long. My hair is thick and full, short hair has always been harder to manage for me, it needed constant styling to look good.

@MrsH: I will add that I had wanted to cut my hair for a while, but my hairstylist wouldn't let me while I was pregnant. Just in cAse I didn't like it with my hormones and all.

mine is usually shoulder length because it's not super thick. its also kind of wavy so it doesn't always air dry very well. i'm planning to just get a trim before baby comes so that i can still get it in a ponytail.

@Jennimac: @Foodnerd81: @SleepyMonkey: @looch: If I had lost a lot of hair pp, I would have sacrificed length and probably added in more layers to make it look right. I barely lost any pp though . . . and while I do like it, it takes for-ev-er to blow dry, and that's just to get it dry enough to style! So, definitely a trade off there!
