Almost Human is so, so good!!
The Blacklist has been hit or miss in its first season, but the last few episodes have been fantastic!! I love James Spader... I guess I never realized just how talented he is. He's been able to carry this show largely by himself so far... pretty incredible.
What new shows are you loving this season?

we were watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine but I'm behind now from traveling a bunch, and the last episode I watched (from early Nov) wasn't as funny

I know I mentioned in another thread of yours that I wasn't feeling the first few episodes of The Blacklist, but I'm happy to report that I've come around - the last few episodes have been fantastic!! That's the only new show I've been keeping up with this season. I only watch The Blacklist, Elementary, and Scandal!

I'm LOVING Almost Human! The dynamics between John and Dorian is AWESOME!
I'm also really enjoying The Blacklist, The Originals, and my fave fave fave new show is The Witches of East End!

The only problem I have with the show so far is that there aren't really any strong female characters on the show... other than John and Dorian's boss. (The female cop on the show so far is basically just a love interest who shoots adoring looks at John.) Usually J.J. Abrams' shows have a strong female protagonist (Fringe, Alias, Lost). This one is such a buddy cop show and has plot lines like the sexbots... I dunno, it just feels like someone else created the show. I guess the showrunner J.H. Wyman has a different style than JJ?

@mrbee: definitely checking it out then. I still haven't been able to finish Fringe. The dreams I had were unbelievable. Last night I dreamt that there was a new Harry Potter that I was a character in and I was throwing confundus spells at Angelina Jolie...so you can imagine Fringe dreams.

@Adira: I think there's a real growing number of strong females on TV today!! Olivia Pope on Scandal, Carrie on Homeland, Leslie Knope on Parks & Rec, several of the agents on SHIELD, all those witches on American Horror Story... it's really remarkable! I think TV is way way ahead of movies here... gives me hope that things will keep trending that way!

@mrbee: IS Carrie a strong female character??? Sometimes she is, and sometimes she's totally bonkers and wimpy and drives me nuts!
But I do agree - TV has come a long way and it's so nice having a long of strong female characters on TV!

@sarbear: I think what initially made me tune in is we live right by the real Sleepy Hollow so I wanted to see how they would portray the town. But I'm really liking the show!

@Adira: Well, she's bipolar... I think the show has done a great job of depicting bipolar depression, especially the manic side of things. This article felt pretty accurate to me!
I think she's definitely a strong woman, and has endured so so much (I haven't seen the latest season though). She just makes bad decisions, especially in her personal life. If people didn't make bad decisions in their personal lives though, TV would be a lot less interesting!

I'm loving Reign. It's about Mary Queen of Scots. It's more romantic comedy than say, Tudors. It's relaxing. I'm not sure what channel it airs on (we dl it).
What's the show about the woman that was incarcerated? I remember reading a thread a few weeks back where a couple ppl said they liked it.

@looch: Almost Human. The pilot was good, but the show has gotten better and better... and they're only four episodes in!
I usually watch the shows on the iPad while doing dishes... makes the drudgery more bearable!

I am really liking Hostages. I know it's only a limited series but it's been fun to watch and see what happens next. I also really like Trophy Wife and Scandal (new to me).

@mrbee: Mainly because we were taking the mickey out of the ridiculously long name, and figured that by the time you've said to someone "Oh, hi, what did you think of last night's episode of Marvel's Agents of ...", other people have stopped listening, so you might as well say "...Steve".

SHIELD has had good episodes, but has been hit or miss lately. I liked the episode where the helmets got a team member sick... felt very Joss.
