Newborn Shadow Box

I may be the last person on the planet to see this on pinterest, but just in case anyone else hasn't seen this idea either, I wanted to share....I love the idea of a shadow box for all of the items from the hospital - like hospital wristband, hospital hat, etc! What a super cute way to keep everything together!

It makes me feel better about the stinkin' $18 hat I bought for Harper to wear at the hospital with a cute bow on it just so she wouldn't have to wear the plain old pink and blue striped one. Now I can put it in the shadow box and hang it in the nursery! Voila! Decoration/Keepsake/Another Justified Etsy Purchase!

If you did a shadow box, will you share photos? I'd LOVE to see it!

Things like this really make me wish pinterest was around when my mom was knocked up with me...I don't have any cool stuff like that!

@PrincessBaby: haha you paid $18 for a hospital hat with a bow?!?! hahaha!!! you are so funny.

I thought of doing one of those not sure. I'm scanning most of his stuff into the computer and using it in his digital baby book anyhow...

@Coco Bee: I am ridiculous- I know! I saw it on a mommy blog and I thought "That is SO much cuter than the normal hat they wear at the hospital! She must have that because that will look so much better for her first pictures in this world!" When it came in, DH totally gave me the stink eye. But now I feel better because it will look really cute in this shadow box-lol!

I didn't buy a shadowbox yet but I did put away all the things for it in a box in her dresser! I also saved her first teeny pair of socks!

@PrincessBaby: It is really cute but I think you could have either got it for cheaper, attached a bow yourself or gotten a different style hat for the same price lol
We got a plain white one with a pom - for a girl it would be totally easy to dress it up with a bow! :):)

@PrincessBaby: Oh! and FWIW Cobi wore his hospital hat for weeks after his birth! It was cool out and he needed to stay warm; plus babies need really warm environments because their temperature-regulator doesn't quite work so well yet. So you will probably get a good amount of use out of it alllll $18 worth

@Coco Bee: I am a sucker for getting caught up in the moment and being totally overcome with NEEDING something super cute for her:) She has a few other hats too- like the cute animal ones, and um- we live in Florida where she'll probably get no use out of hats. I just tell myself that it's okay to be out of control for her since she's the first, and maybe I'll have calmed down by the time #2 comes along:) You should see her closet. DH almost passed out when he came home this last time. I got in big trouble! I know it's crazy but I can't help myself when it comes to her!!!! Hopefully we'll have another DD one day and I can re-use everything:)

@PrincessBaby: ummm you totally have me looking a hospital baby hats on Etsy and now I want one for when I have baby #2! ahahahah!!!! I LOVE this one - love yellow.. and chevron!

@PrincessBaby: at my hospital, the Gil hats have bows attached anyway. I love the shadow box idea, but so much of that stuff is already in her baby book.

@Coco Bee: Well keep your fingers crossed that it's actually cool here in FL in December! Sometimes we'll get weather in the low 60s/high 50s in Dec and everyone freaks out and wears North Face jackets and stuff- lol, so she can wear her little hats:)

@Coco Bee: I love those! You're so talented you could probably make hats like that! And sell them! I cannot sew a button on a shirt, so I am forced to buy from people who can! I saw the crib set you were making for Cobi and I was like, "Wow. I cannot imagine being able to make that!"

@PrincessBaby: aw thanks I only finished the crib skirt though I still have to make his sheet. He has been sleeping on a quilt that is tucked into the sides of his crib lol!

OMG I just found the cutest thing on easy and I think you should get it for Harper hahahah!! I totally am tempted to get it in case I ever have a DD!

@Coco Bee: That is super cute! DH made me promise no more clothes (I really did get in big trouble because we're building a house and he says she has too much!), so I'm cut off:( I have really slowed my roll lately- just a couple of bows and headbands:)

omg. I LOVE THAT. I put a lot of the stuff in the baby book but the shadowbox is adorable!!! I hope I still have all of Wagon Jr.'s stuff... I don't think I have the hospital onesie but I might still have his going home outfit.
