DH and I have a cat. He's awesome. He's around 5 years old (based on his suspected age when we adopted him) and he's REALLY social, and is really attached to me too. He sleeps in bed with us (because otherwise he howls outside the door if we don't let him in), basically squished up next to me. I'm 35 weeks pg today.

So far we've been locking him out of the nursery room because all he wants to do is jump into the crib and play with/destroy the mobile. I'll let him in there to explore when I'm doing stuff in there, so he gets used to the setup, but we plan on closing the door when baby's in there sleeping because I don't trust him to not cuddle up/snuff out the baby.

However, I was thinking about setting up our pack n' play (with bassinet attachment) in the event I want to sleep close by the baby. I would like to set this up in my bedroom, rather than the nursery (although we do have a bed I can sleep in there as well). But I want to sleep next to DH too, and I can't really have it both ways.

I guess my question is, have any of you had any super social and/or attached cats, and how did they respond when the baby came? Were they super curious? Jealous? Lovey to the baby?
