Does/did your baby's head flop forward in the carseat? When it's just on the ground the angle is fine, but in the base in the car, and whenever we drive her head flops all the way forward. With wagon jr. We put a rolled up towel under the front of the base (prob not very safe and voids the warranty and all that) but we had to install the base with the seat belt this time and that won't allow for the towel this time...

My LO likes to lean his head ALLllll the way to the side so he looks like a creepy zombie when he falls asleep in his carseat. I tried all kinds of stuff to keep him from doing it but it didn't work, so now I just let it happen. I always make double sure his harness is on correctly though.

We used the infant insert in the Chicco Keyfit 30 and I don't think her head ever flopped forward. We tightened the straps and pad and she has a largish head-lol!

Her head flopped into crazy positions until she was about 5 weeks old. Then she had enough control to keep it where she wanted it. I think it's normal.

I bet it's not reclined enough for her in the car. You can cut a pool noodle to put in the crease of the seat to elevate the seat so she's more reclined & her head shouldn't bobble around so much.

I guess they make things that are specifically for it if your not up for hacking a pool noodle

I think our car seat manual mentions towels and pool noodles as options, so I don't think it voids the warranty. We have the snuzzler thing that keeps her head from flipping side-to-side, which helps a lot!

@MrsWagon: When I had my carseat inspected they actually recommended the pool noodle idea (got one for $1 at a dollar store) because of the incline of our back seat. They also said a rolled up hand towel would work because it wouldn't be as bulky as a regular towel; we didn't have to incline it very much.

once when we used a rental car this happened all the time, but it doesnt happen in our car. I think its something to do with the seat because we use the seatbelt in both cars but only had this problem in the rental

We have to use a seat belt to install our seats (bucket and convertible). I emailed the manufacturer because my husband was insisting a pool noodle or towel wasn't allowed, but they replied they are fine. We also have a special wedge that came with our Swedish convertible, but not sure of those are universal or not.
I found it really helpful to get the angle correct using a right triangle folded piece of paper.

I didn't want to use a rolled up towel in our car seat because I was worried about it shifting position or falling over his face so we used the Kiddopotamus Snuzzler which I LOVED... his head never flopped around.
