We have been limiting movies lately but we do have a movie night 1-2 times a week as a special treat. We have been watching the same movies over and over and I would love to get another one. We own a lot of the Disney/Pixar ones or have them on the DVR. We don't own any that are less than 2 years old though. Any recommendations for any good kids movies that are newer?

Big Hero Six is super popular here. The music is awesome. N also loves Frozen.

Not new but O is OBSESSED with Monsters, Inc right now. Wall-E is cute, not super new though.

R is OBSESSED with rio 2. and not the first one. following along for more suggestions as i just had my mom bring some old school disney DVDs she has to see if there were any hits there.

Dan watched it with her, so I haven't seen it, but Sadie loved Big Hero 6. She does his little fist bump all the time. Some of the other newer one she really likes are Frozen, Despicable Me 1 & 2, Rio 1 & 2, the Ice Age movies, Mr. Peabody and Sherman (really cute!), and The Croods. We watch a lot of movies.

Frozen, Tangled, Rio/Rio2 are usually in rotation for awhile. But K's newest movie obsession is Little Mermaid (not new) and Tarzan when she's with DH. She also likes any of the Tinkerbell/Fairies stuff. We have Epic saved on the DVR. I think that one is new.

Big Hero 6 is really good. How to Train Your Dragon is another favorite, along with Lego Movie.

We love kids movies at our house. I'm glad we are finally going to have a reason to watch them.

I loved Big Hero 6. My husband is also a big fan of the Kung fu panda, how to train your dragon, and despicable me movies.

DH loves the Incredibles (he's basically a kid!).

My friend just watched song of the sea with her 2.5 year old. She said her DD loved it.I'm planning on doing a family movie night with this movie.

@Bao: Planes Fire and Rescue. That movie is so cute and one of the few ones we own ahha.
As for theatres, I recently saw Paddington Bear with one of my friends and her son. That movie was adorable! I've heard good things about Cinderella too! -

My son is scared of animated films, but he really likes Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music.
Eta: they obviously aren't newer, but since we can't watch animated films, that's all I've got!
