DS has always been a bad sleeper, with frequent night wakings, but we (ourselves and his doctors) always thought it was relate to either an FPIES reaction or lack of solids and needing to nurse to make up calories, however he has not nursed for 3 months and we are still having issues.

He frequently wakes up at night, every night, multiple times and not at regular intervals or patterns. Sometimes he wakes up and moans and wimpers, sits up and then thrashed around a little before falling back asleep. Other times he shoots up and out of bed SCREAMING as if being hurt, runs to the door and shuts it, then hits, kicks, and has what appears to be a temper tantrum. Sometime he goes all the way downstairs and does this at the front door. Touching him and/or talking to him makes it worse and it takes a little while for him to "snap" out of whatever it is. Once he does so he usually goes back to sleep but it takes a little for him to settle and he needs to be skin to skin to do so. They sound like night terrors but they happen ALL theoughtout the night and not just the first half which is generally when night terrors occur. I tried to search and saw some parents mentioned RLS (restless leg syndrome) and I sort of wonder because he often kicks his legs while trying to fall asleep or when he does these wakings. Anyone have experience with similar occurrences? We have his 2 year well baby tomorrow and I plan on discussing this issue. It has been ongoing and for far too long.
