heard on the radio, they are trying to pass a law in New Jersery. i am personally all for it. i rememeber in high school right around prom season girl would go CRAZY tanning ( think orange carrots). personally im all for reducing the rate of skin cancer. i think it should be banned for those under 18.

I'm all for it but I do know a lot of people that would probably be furious about this or not see the point in it. I've actually never been tanning because I tend to burn but I've always had so many people tell me to try tanning beds and they all went until they were really dark (especially during prom season like you said).

Thank goodness- i used to go tanning in HS then read one article in Cosmo or some other mag when I was in college about how terrible it was for you- and havent been since- its been like 12 years! You dont know enough about it when you are young (and stupid)

I kind of want to say I think it should be banned completely. When I was younger I did use tanning for special occasions but I wish I hadn't, knowing what I know now and wish I didn't have that temptation.

I think its a good thing! I tanned constantly in junior high and high school - without my parents' knowledge or permission! - and I so regret it now. My neighbors had a tanning salon they let me use for free, and I went allllll the time. I wish I knew then what I know now. Young and dumb. My mom is a melanoma survivor and I freak about every mole/spot/freckle I ever get.

I used to tan in HS like daily, now I stick to spray tans if I want some color.

I agree with it! I never went tanning until I was 18 as it is.

I think it's great! If something can cause lasting damage, you should have to be old enough to really understand what you are doing to yourself before you're allowed to do it.
