So my 3 year old has started to REFUSE to let me brush and style her hair in the mornings. She lets me brush it after bath but in the mornings she throws a huge fit and says she wants crazy hair. She hates ponytails, braids, piggy tails, it all. She will let me put a barrette in to keep her hair out of her eyes. I'm at my wits end and told her we were cutting it off if she doesn't let me but she just bawled saying then she doesn't have Rapunzel hair.

@LuLu Mom: sounds like my kid. Just in the past week (she is 3 years, 5 months) has she let me start doing something to her hair. I used to only be able to put clips in there. Now all she wants is braids. I'm SO happy she wants braids now because you can do so much more. haha. But I feel your pain. We dealt with this for sooooooooooooooooo long.

@mediagirl: I feel like she looks homeless most days to daycare because it's such a fight to just brush it! and then she "messes" it up to make it crazy.

Let her brush it on her own? I just bought my son (with thick crazy hair) his own brush because he hates when I try to comb out all the craziness..
There's a Disney princess braid book out there - I came across it at Costco. You could get some cute accessories and do princess hair?

@LuLu Mom: DD1 is like this. A lot of the time, she does look disheveled.
I have to distract her and try to brush out her rats nest. But I can't talk because I often don't brush my hair either. Ha.

My daughter wears her hair in almost a pixie cut for this very reason. She's 4, I'm not going to make her suffer for beauty. So it just stays very short.

I just let her go with crazy hair. My LO refuses to have her hair cut shorter too.

@rachiecakes: I've tried the brushing her own, but she "pretends" and then says all done. There is no brushing going on. I've tried using princess hair before but she doesn't' go for it!

@LuLu Mom: We've been having this battle too. I just ordered some detangling spray because I think that will make it more "fun" to her and she'll be more willing to cooperate. Amazon is delivering it today, I'll let you know what my success level is!

She desperately wants her hairlong like rapunzel, but it still hasn't grown very much in her 3.5 years. Shes only had a few trims, not even full cuts yet. I can't wait until she has hair long enough for actual ponys and braids.She lets me brush it when I tell her I have to look for bugs.

This probably wouldn't work, but can you emphasize that Repunzel doesn't have crazy hair? That Repunzel brushes and brushes her hair?

@Truth Bombs: Yes, please do! We've tried both Johnson & Johnson and Suave they worked for the first few days and then she said it stopped working or smells weird.

Will she let daycare/school brush it out? Some kids just like to watch the rise out of the parent.

The selling of Ava Anderson is so annoying, but you should try her detangler. I have heard many positive reviews from friends. I use her baby stuff and it smells great!

Does Evelyn live at your house? We go through the same thing and she also says she wants Repunzel hair!
