Today is the first day I've ever used the NoseFrida (and actually got anything out!) But after a particularly tough suction-session, I almost instantly felt something wrong in my throat. Ugh. I feel like something is coming on. Is the filter supposed to prevent germs from going into my mouth, or is just to prevent actual snot? Did I just inhale all of LOs germs (her first cold). I haven't been sick since she was born.

@wheres_c: I knew I had seen that post before, but it didn't show up in my search. Ugh. I guess, but DH was sick for a whole week already and K only caught it on daddy's first full day at home with us. Go figure.
I'm just taking Tylenol in hopes of keeping it away, but I already am starting to feel something...

@shopaholic: most bugs have an incubation period - I think it would take at least 24 hrs to come down with it post snot sucking if you got the germs that way. My guess is you picked up germs via snuggling or caring for baby. I know I get almost all of J's colds because they are most contagious early on, before you even realize they're sick sometimes. The snot sucker people claim it filters out microbes, but I don't know if I trust that 100%. It's possible that it could get you sick, just not that quickly. I hope you both feel better soon.

The filter is supposed to prevent germs. I got almost all of my sons sicknesses and used the mosefrieda but I think I would have gotten sick anyhow. My hubby rarely used he snot sucker and he always got sick too.

FWIW, I've never caught one of LO's colds, we always use the nosefrida, and she's almost 2. I don't think the filter is preventing germ transfer, though.
