@bizwitch: At this point it can only help
@periwinklebee: I think I could tolerate them better if I wasn't paying attention to everything and thus noticing the sore boobs and discomfort for so long in my cycle

6DPO is too early to feel this awful, right?! I sprinted to my bathroom to dry heave this morning and I've felt like puking most of the morning. Ughhhh

@Mrs. J: I would think so, are you sure of your o date? Sorry you've been sick.

    pomelo / 5132 posts

@periwinklebee: yes, confirmed with temps and OPK. With my first two, I had some random early nausea, so maybe it's a good thing. In any case, it's too early to test, so I just have to play the waiting game!

Did any of you second time (or more) moms have implantation bleeding with your first? Could you tell the difference between it and normal spotting, or was it basically the same?

I've been spotting since yesterday morning. The thing that is getting me is that it seems quite different from my normal spotting, much darker brown with no red, whereas I'm pretty sure my spotting is usually red/pink. I swore I wouldn't play the game of trying to separate pms and pregnancy symptoms, because I think it's a losing game (at least since this is our first so I have nothing to go off of and my pms symptoms vary a lot), but then my app told me that brown spotting is a common pregnancy sign and so of course I googled it and saw the same thing online.

@Mrs. J: Your progesterone peaks at 7 dpo, so it could be that. I had it my first cycle off birth control I was convinced I was pregnant cause I was so nauseous but it was my hormones going CRAZY! (that doesn't mean you aren't but it could be one reason for it)

@periwinklebee: I didn't have any implantation spotting the first time, but sounds like that's what it could be! Fx for you!

@Mrs. J: Sorry you are feeling yucky. I have had nausea and (TMI!!!) terrible gas. I remember the gas from before I got my BFP with LO. Hopeful for us both!

@periwinklebee: I had it with my first. I thought it was my period starting and was disappointed. It was only on one day and was bright red. I took a test a week and half later and it was positive. That was before I knew much about cycles and different phase lengths and stuff. I just waited until my period was a few days late.

@periwinklebee: I had implantation bleeding with my second pregnancy and as I recall it was darker? Didn't last long, like hours at most. I got a BFP in the evening 48 hours later.

Congrats to all BFPs so far! Does anyone know if general anesthesia can tamper with your cycle? Two days late on AF and no pos (usually am like clockwork). I did have minor surgery on CD5 and am wondering if that could have prevented O this month? CM was all over the place - fertile for a couple weeks straight. I'm thinking that GA earlier this month may have been a factor...?

    nectarine / 2317 posts

@coddergirl: stress can, and surgery would be stress on your body.

Anyone else have high temps during their period? My temps have been 97.6 and higher for the past 3 days and I find this to be strange, normally my temps during my period are 97.3-97.4

  17. periwinklebee

    grapefruit / 4466 posts

@snarkybiochemist: My temps usually start dropping day 2 or 3 of my period, and drop gradually until its over.

@coddergirl: I'm not sure about GA but it seems plausible that it would delay ovulation.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend! AF is a day late for me but BFN this morning and I'm trying not to let it drive me crazy. This is I think the first time since being off birth control for a year that AF has been late, but probably I just messed up pinpointing my o date or this cycle is weird. I'm not hopeful given the stark white BFN at 12dpo and the fact that I've had light spotting for the past three days. This waiting for AF, when the odds are slim but you don't feel 100% out, is my least favorite part of the cycle.

@snarkybiochemist: ya mine have stayed high to day 5 before and only today mine dropped back down to where pre O temps should be (cd7)

@periwinklebee: ugh sorry about the BFN I often feel if it's not happened AF just come already! That sliver of hope kills me

@periwinklebee: those last few days of the cycle are definitely hard! so far this has been a pretty boring weekend. i teach as an adjunct and the end of the semester is always busy with extra stuff to grade, getting students ready for finals etc. so my day had mostly revolved around that. hope you are having a good weekend!

  22. snarkybiochemist

    nectarine / 2180 posts

@periwinklebee: @Banana330: ok so while it's weird and annoying it happens to plenty of people

  23. periwinklebee

@jhd: Good luck with all of the end of the semester craziness! Yesterday was pretty relaxing for us, today will be mostly working. I'm having dinner with an old college friend, though, so that's exciting.

AF had still not arrived this morning but still spotting and another bfn so I expect AF will arrive today. I would call the longer luteal phase a win but I think the past four days of spotting neutralizes that.

Anybody else spot a lot starting around 8 or 9 dpo? I thought I'd fixed my spotting issues with b vitamin, managing stress better (it seems stress related) and acupuncture, it hasn't happened for a few cycles, but maybe not. Maybe the stress of the election messed things up...Anyone have any other tips for staving off spotting? My main concern is that it's a sign of low progesterone or something else that could be keeping us from getting pregnant but I'm trying not to get too worried yet. My gp won't do any fertility related blood work.

    nectarine / 2317 posts

@periwinklebee: I've been taking vitex with my naturopathic doctor it's suppose to regulate hormones and help with progesterone. But I'd use it with guidance as I've heard stopping it when pregnant can cause miscarriage if don't incorrectly.

There's also progesterone creams you can get to use during your LP to see if it helps. Or supplements from your doc

@periwinklebee: that will be fun to catch up with a friend today. sorry about the spotting I know you are ready for AF to just show up already if she's coming!

Tested this am with a cheapie and got a bfn. AF isn't due til Wed so I'm a little hopeful but also trying to prepare myself. I spent most of last week convinced I must be pregnant because of all kinds of crazy symptoms! I hate all the crazy stuff that goes on in your brain while TTC! Tried talking about it with DH yesterday but he doesn't get it!

I shouldn't complain about a 3 day period right? This cycle and the last are so weird. Thank goodness for an appt with the RE on tuesday, maybe things will get sorted out.

8DPO today and feeling some pinching on my right side. Hopefully, it's just somebody taking up residence!!

@jhd: good luck with the bfp. My husband doesn't get it either, he doesn't understand all of the emotions and how hard the waiting is and how upsetting a bfn or period is.
