@Kaohinani: I’m not sure yet, I have an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon on the 12th and am trying to schedule one with a neurosurgeon. This means I’ll have to put off ttc for a little bit though 😩

Ok, ladies. My turn to pose a question: Has anyone gotten an increased sex drive at 5,6,7 dpo? I've had negative OPKs the last few days and my OV was confirmed CD11; however, I am ALL about the BD-ing. Usually, my drive starts to peter out around 7/8 dpo. This is odd.

  3. LAZB

    pomegranate / 3904 posts

@Kaohinani: my drive never increases, I’m impressed yours does so consistently!

@LAZB: I would pursue as much treatment/therapies as possible before undergoing surgery. But if the herniated discs don't respond to anything (my husband's didn't) I can recommend an amazing surgeon and use my hubby to answer any questions that I can't.

  5. Sams Mom

    grapefruit / 4492 posts

@Kaohinani: I haven't had it increase that late in my cycle. Usually I start feeling frisky around O-3, and it goes away somewhere around 3/4 dpo

@Sams Mom: I’ve been dealing with this same issue for about 8 years, actually longer, but that’s when it was first diagnosed. I’ve done multiple rounds of PT, the series of three shots, etc, but I guess it’s getting worse and has to be addressed? I was hoping to sweep it under a rug again lol

@LAZB: Man - from what I can read on your report, you have about 8 different reasons to be in pain. Jesus. Have you had back problems all your life? This stuff didn't happen overnight, but definitely looks worse than your last MRI per the report.

Sorry I haven't been on too much. I've been just trying to focus on other things other then ttc. I'm still hurting where my left ovary is. I'll get that looked at Monday

Also my temp has not gone down still. Idk man temping maybe kinda pointless right now. Any reason why my temp is still high. I know it's not cause I'm pregnant. I've read most womens temp go down after a chemical pretty quick but I'm CD 6 and my temps are still post O high. This morning was 98.58F.

@LAZB: what a crazy situation to be in. It sucks to hold off on ttc, but if back surgery can fix the issues it make them significantly better that would be a bonus in the long run.

@Kaohinani: I have zero drive ever usually and haven’t since my first pregnancy when I did have it still. So I’m no help for the question pool!

@Lazb: I'm sorry, I did not notice that you replied back to me last night. My mom had done 3 years of PT/OT therapy before moving on to her decision for surgery. Therapy was beneficial for her, but being older and having both osteoarthritis (back and legs) and rheumatoid arthritis (hands, ankles, feet), aggravated her symptoms profoundly. Should you go the route of further therapies and proproceptive exercise, you would still have time for TTC. Of course, surgery nowadays isn't as invasive as years ago and you could be back to TTC in a cycle or 2 depending on how fast you heal. 😉 Obviously, I'm not a medical physician, so I can't tell you what route to go or how perfect everything will be. I just have hope it will all work out. 🤞

@Sams Mom: @Yellowbeach: I'm glad you both were able to review her information. It was so small and fuzzy, I couldn't see much of anything.

@cyoung: Perhaps, illness or infection? At this point, hun, you are quite the enigma. I hope your physician has more conclusive answers for you.

Sam's Mom, Lazb, and @Petitduck: Thank you for responding to my inquiry on increased libido mid-luteal phase. I suppose I'm a freak this cycle. 😂🤣 I'm okay with it though ... I know DH is. Maybe it is because we have been sooo relaxed this cycle? I don't know. 🤷‍♀️

Got my crosshairs this morning. Still in Nashville but get home tonight. Too late for anything productive I fear.

Monday is my big board exam. I of course feel underprepared and overwhelmed, but at this point there’s only so much cramming I can do. I can’t even begin to tell you how stressful this test is. Like my whole life is on hold until I get past it, including TTC. Part of why we didn’t transfer this month.

@LazB: as much as it sucks to wait for a baby, I can’t even imagine being 3rd trimester with the added weight and center of gravity shift with how much pain and pathology you have right now. I think that could be incredibly miserable and dangerous even (increased potential for falls, acute compression fractures, etc). Ugh. I’m so sorry.

  13. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@yellowbeach: Did you ever decide if this month was a "try and see naturally" or a simply "NTNP" cycle? (* My stupid curiosity again. Sorry.) I know your exam is all consuming and all so I just wanted to ask before becoming too excited here. 🤣 Anyway, since it appears that you OVed on CD 18 (as we figured you would), the BD-ing on CD 15 could definitely produce something good since it is O+3. 😉

    nectarine / 2648 posts

@Kaohinani: Ok you are going to think I am totally insane (bc this sounds insane while typing it)... but charting and temping this month started as wanting to use OPKs for the first time in an unmedicated cycle to see if they are reliable for me and that I can detect OV. It sounds crazy I would have made it to IVF back in 2016 without ever having tried OPKs first, but that's what happened. So from that standpoint, this has been a successful cycle. It helps me know if I need to rely on a trigger shot for my FETs or not.

As far as the pregnancy part of this specific cycle... I have VERY mixed emotions. I think part of me is impatient and worried now after 2 failed FETs that maybe IVF won't work for us again, and while it seemed like a safe way to help prevent another TFMR, if it's not working, then our other choice is to TTC naturally. We've proven we can get pregnant that way, so perhaps doing that and rolling the dice on genetic abnormalities is worth the gamble as that might be better odds than IVF right now...

So as for the big question, when will I test... probably 10DPO or the day AF is due/missed. I'm not hoping for much, and honestly, if I were to somehow get a that's of course going to come with it's own set of stress. Can't even think of that right now.

  15. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@yellowbeach: Actually, it made perfect sense to me. You were taking a very clinical approach and using yourself as a TTC test subject for OPKs initially. There is a human component, though, in which the rationale that conception can occur naturally and (should it happen) may outweigh the use of FET in the long run ... especially if it both bonds you and DH and, potentially, will not lead to another TFMR. I do understand as I could see myself doing the same. 😉 I mean, I use 2 types of OPKs, 2 BBT tracking devices, 3 BBT apps, get my hormones checked monthly (always normal), exercise frequently, eat healthy (and gf), and perform constant "mini trials" on myself under physician supervision. I "get" it. I think your approach and the evolution is natural and interesting.
Also, assume there is no pressure to POAS from any of us. 😉 If you choose to begin at 10 dpo, AWESOME!; if not, that is fine ... I'll keep assuming you are "technically NTNP even if you are a little bit." 🙂

    pomegranate / 3904 posts

@yellowbeach: thanks for looking it over! Yes, I’ve had back problems forever, the first time I remember it being really bad was when I was around 19. I’m not in amazing shape, which doesn’t help, but the problems are definitely more from the way I’m made and not situational. I’m 35, now, and have significant pain about once a year (which I usually go to PT for), and some pain most days, so I guess if it’s getting worse I should address it now. From googling it does look like I can ttc quickly after (although some docs recommend waiting 6 months).

  17. LAZB

    pomegranate / 3904 posts

@Petitduck: I think you’re right, might just be good to suck it up
@Kaohinani: I’m definitely hoping to be back at it really soon, I emailed my re already to give her the lowdown on what is probably going to happen since I won’t be coming in for a few months. I wanted her reassurance that I won’t suddenly have zero eggs to work with
@yellowbeach: I can totally understand your mixed emotions, and like @Kaohinani: said, I like having the data and “experimenting” too! It’s so interesting to see things working, and I imagine as a doctor, it’s even more interesting to you

8 dpo - Still too early to POAS so I'll share my FF chart. Temps are on the up-and-up. 🤞Non-symptoms: bloated (round belly), tender knockers, and increased libido (* I know, I'm weird! 😂).
I'm waiting for my corpus luteum dip (which comes every cycle).

Today will be fairly quiet: DH went off to training, DD is at school, in laws are back home, I have to teach an English class tomorrow but I have no clients until Monday. #FirstRelaxingDayInTheLast60+🙄🤣

So I started temping again about a week ago to get back into the habit. Well FF just "confirmed" ovulation, even though I'm assuming provera prevents that and I've had no fertile CM.

  20. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@Sams Mom: Wait, that is crazy! Weren't you having a bit of "fertile-ish" CM and wondering if OV on Provera was possible last week? I may have gotten that all mixed up bc we respond back-and-forth so much. It is unlikely but possible to OV and get a BFP on Provera. (I think I wrote that but I don't remember...). If you do receive a BFP while on Provera (dose 2), discontinue as Provera can lead to birth defects when consumed beyond 3.5 weeks post conception according to studies.

  21. Sams Mom

    grapefruit / 4492 posts

@Kaohinani: I usually get like globs of EWCM O-1 & O, sometimes sooner, so I assumed that without the EW I wouldn't be ovulating? Unless my husbands super sperm can shack up for 3 weeks in me, I won't be getting a bfp

I was not feeling it once I found out that I was going to be in purgatory, and it says I'm 3 dpo now.

    I am sooo confused.

  22. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@Sams Mom: IDK. 🤔 It is really weird. Perhaps it effected your temperature fluctuations (think Clomid) which is why your chart read as an ovulatory one? Or, you did ovulate on it ... which is rare. Honestly though, Provera could induce an early cycle (less than 8 days) and a short period and you'd still be on-track. That is not completely unheard of. Perhaps, call your OBGYN?

Hey, your DH was super-proud of his "superhero swimmers" ... I wouldn't put it past them if he thinks they are THAT super. 😉😂🤣

  23. Sams Mom

    grapefruit / 4492 posts

@Kaohinani: he would be unbearable if he managed to knock me up 3 weeks out

Like I would have to just start wearing earplugs so I wouldn't have to hear about his superior swimming sperm.

ETA: So I had to take a stool sample for my son because the only days he doesn't have diarrhea is days that he doesn't poop at all. Well he finally poops at 6:45 last night, I get the sample and take it to the hospitals affiliate urgent care so they can transfer it to the lab once it opens (per dr's orders). They can't accept samples not ordered by their doctors. ugghhhhh. So I had to keep poop in my refrigerator *barf*, drop it off this morning, and find out its a 48 hour lead time to hear anything... and it's friday. ugghhhhhhh

@Sams Mom: Not to make light over Sam's intestinal issues (because I know how it goes, and let's be honest - it isn't funny. ☹); however, your storage story was a bit humorous (I've been there as well 🤭) ... Makes for a "Sh#tty day," 💩 does it not? Pun, absolutely, intended. 😉

I just officially got my period after Cycle 1 of TTC #2 and need some support! Haha

    Cycle Day: 1
    TTC Cycle: 2
    Ovulation Date: approx. 11/17
    POAS Date: 11/30

Our DS is turning 2 on 11/11! I was so excited and hopeful to start trying for #2, but we didn't get lucky this month despite perfect timing on our anniversary trip. Anyways, I am starting to lose my cool just 1 month in, so I figured I could use some support! Haha

Kid you not - last night we had to deplane ✈️ backwards. Last row (back of the plane) exited first, and 1st Class last. The way the pilot explained it, “Boeing stretched this model out pretty far, so it requires a tail pole underneath the back so we don’t tip onto the tail when deplaning. Those are apparently all broken, so we have to deplane in reverse order.”

Resounding cheers 🥂🍾🎉 from those of us in the back, and pouty faces on those in first class.

On a separate note - my O-3 is now an O-4 as FF bumped my OV line by a day due to my temp. 🤷‍♀️

  35. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@yellowbeach: I have never heard of such when exiting a plane. 🤔 For once, 1st Class passes didn't lend to privilege, eh? 😂

Weird that FF shifted your OV date. Is it also because you had that 2nd positive OPK so it is using that as your POS OPK? Did it also increase your coverline? Are you using the advanced or family planning tracker on it? I know, so many questions here. 🤔😏

  36. yellowbeach

    nectarine / 2648 posts

@Kaohinani: looks like it did also increase my cover line a tad. Is that meaningful? I’m not sure what the family planning tracker is so now sure if I have it enabled or not 🤷‍♀️

  37. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@yellowbeach: It looks like your coverline is higher from your last chart share. It just means that all temps from now on should stay above the coverline to maintain your shift was ovulatory (* not including dips below coverline for hormonal shifts like corpus luteum dips or implantation dips which may but not always dip below during a normal cycle). FF is out to get you this month ... Don't worry, it doesn't like me much either since with my Tempdrop I have to keep adjusting temps. 😂
You can go into your settings and change what you are monitoring for under "Chart Settings" then "Detector." Most are set on "Advanced" since it looks at OPKs and CM for you and will guess your OV date based on their algorithm; however, many ladies set theirs to "Family Planning" or "OPK", or even the "Research" option. You can also manually set your OV date if you go to the OBGYN or RE and know definitively when you OVed.

9 dpo - My oral temps and my Tempdrop temps are completely dissimilar today. *scratches head* 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️So either I was mouth breathing 😴 and my oral temps are off, OR my restless night's sleep 🛌 affected my Tempdrop's BBT calculations. Either way, I'm still above coverline so, whatever... Right? 😉👍😂
