6dpo for me based on opks. It’s draaaaaaging ugh. My face has broken out a bunch which hasn’t really happened in the last few months before af (or I just haven’t noticed it as much) so I’m hoping that means my hormones are getting themselves back in check?? and that I’ll have a longer lp this time. If I start af before the 6th, likely, then we won’t even be able to try in november because dh will be away for a whole week which will be my whole fertile week. Brilliant.

@yellowbeach. Cute costume! Very creative. Bummer on the bd difficulties, but I’ll echo what others have said about how it’s so great you guys are getting to have that connection again.

@Kaohinani: charts are basically a mystery to me. I try and stare at them and understand. Ha!

    Hey Ladies!

I'm trying to get back into the swing of OPKs. I am a little confused because the first one I took at CD8 was not positive, but darker than the ones I'm getting now. Who knows. I'm currently CD12. I'm hoping to see some progression here with the OPKs starting to get darker.

@Petitduck: I get post-OV chin acne 3/4th of my cycles and [ugh] it stinks! Nice skin (even dry, dare I say) most of the month and then *BAM!* zitfest on my chin. Lovely. 😒
F'x 🤞 for your longer LP this month and that you won't need to TTC NOV/DEC. 🙂

As for charting, there are so many tutorials on how to and which explain the types of rises, cycle patterns, drops, dips, what hormonal fluctuations may cause drops or spikes during which cycle days on average. It is quite interesting when one gets into the swing of it (or maybe it's just me. 😂🤣).

@creativemomma15: Perhaps you geared up with an "almost surge" but never OVed. So you will soon. The other option is that your surge was early but wasn't as strong as the register on the LH OPK. In that case, you OVed on either CD9 or 10.

@Kaohinani: I'm hoping I didn't ovulate yet We haven't been too on top of things with BD. But we did on CD9 so maybe we'd still be ok there. Hmm.

I'll start temping for sure when AF dies down a bit more. I may need to start earlier cause I did an opk for fun today and I got a decent line on it. It maybe from left over hcg but I never got a postive opk when I was pregnant this past time. We will see. I think I'll keep doing opks to be safe. I've heard some women O early after a chemical.

@cyoung: Could be. Are you going to your appointment today? (Or is it tomorrow?) Will you find out your Monday betas and see if there has been any change?

@Kaohinani: I'm going tomorrow. It's just a walk in appointment. I just get betas done tomorrow. Idk if they will call me today or not. I wont talk to my doctor till Monday.

@Kaohinani: Thursday is my last day of Provera, then if it takes a couple days to start, I'm guessing AF will show her face on November 4.

So weird cramping going on right now, very bloated, and *tmi*gassy! I have no idea what is going on in TTC purgatory! The plus is I only have a few more days left here, the not so great is I have to have 2 periods without having a shot at getting pregnant. I also have to take a pregnancy test before I start femara, and this is when I actually think POAS is a waste of stick. Who am I and where is the real me?

    kiwi / 624 posts

I poas, just for shits. I was bored. Obviously there was nothing. I’m bloaty and I’m pretty sure af is coming shortly. Sigh. You tell yourself you’re going to keep your expectations low, but you never do!

  15. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@Sams Mom: I am right there with you ('cept not. 😉😂) ... Today's non-symptoms: bloated (up 4 lbs from yesterday), gassy 😳, having diarrhea 💩 (TMI, I know, but whatever), and fatigued 😴. Too late to pee on an OPK, too early to pee on a HPT. TWW Purgatory. 😶

@Petitduck: I'm sorry, Petitduck. I find I feel the same way when I test early as well. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get some nice lines in the next few days. 🤞

  17. Petitduck

    kiwi / 624 posts

@Kaohinani: I didn’t think the test would show anything since I basically just ovulated so I didn’t mean I have my hopes up for the test. In general I pretend I’m thinking the worst, but know I’m hoping for the best and clinging to hope! But most ttc people are I guess. It has been the same with every ttc attempt and the babies. I dislike ttc a lot. If we’re lucky enough to have a third it will be our last and I’ll be happy about that just so we’ll never have to do this again, read “so I’ll never have to do this again” I’m impressed with your continued positivity and support for everyone! And I’m throwing it right back at you. Thank you.

Should have posted here first so someone could slap some sense into me!

Ok, I’m 7/8 dpo, still no spotting or cramping woohoo! I’m soooo sore though, the deep stretches and muscle manipulation I’ve been doing so I can stand upright again is doing wonders, but it also kinda hurts like hell.

Did a Cm check twice today. Af is starting. All the expletives. Third month of a super short cycle, 25/26 days this time and the shortest lp yet. I’m really disappointed and feel like something isn’t right.

    @Petitduck: Oh, man!!!!
Are you absolutely positive it is AF? I mean, I'm not questioning you but I can't believe it! 😧

Ugh, my stomach is super upset and I feel a little crampy. Not sure if it’s from the messed up stomach or af coming.

6dpo - and nothing but hot air (gas) and tired (* probably from having guests). Chart looks typical.

@Kaohinani: this is EXACTLY how the last two months went. So frustrating. Started af this morning. Feels like a crappy groundhog day. I had one 33 day cycle, my former normal, one 41 day, and now 3 25/26 day ones. My periods have also been lasting longer. Used to be 4-5 days and now they’re 7-10. I take opks starting at 10 days so I know I don’t miss it and I had an undeniably strong opk this month so I know I’m not misinterpreting. I feel defeated already. I’m obviously not going to get pregnant like this so I don’t want to waste my time trying, but I feel like my doctor will laugh me out of the office as well...

  24. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@Petitduck: Aw, hun, that is so unbelievably frustrating! 😡
(*Putting my nerd glasses on here* 🤓🧐)
I would, certainly, ask your OBGYN about the possibility of taking a battery of tests (FSH, LH, testosterone, progesterone, estrogen, prolactin, etc.) just to see if a recent shift in your hormones have thrown your cycles completely adrift. The answer may be as simple as increasing vitamin D, or iron, taking medication for an underactive thyroid or even progesterone supplementation to lengthen your luteal phase. Longer menstrual bleeds could mean too much estrogen is in your system during your follicular phase (it also can be signs of PCOS, fibroids, and endometriosis). Or, it could nothing at all, which would be frustrating but good to know nevertheless.

AFM, I have the opposite issue. I have a short/scant AF (2-4 days with most bleeding only when I use the latrine) which is disconcerting because I fear it may be the early stage of perimenopause. I also have a longer luteal (14-16 days) which makes for THE LONGEST TWW EVER ... just to find out (month after month) that I'm still not pregnant 😖. (But I try not to let it get me down too much. It just means DH and I get another month of unbridled BD-ing 🙊🙉🙈😉😳🤣)

@Petitduck: you need a new doctor that will listen! I'm so sorry

I took my bbt this morning and it was pretty high still. Like 98.60F. I'm just spotting now...thank God. I was getting dizzy from all my bleeding (tmi sorry) I'm anemic but I've started taking my iron pills again.

So POA OPK this morning too (waking up in Nashville) and looks even darker than yesterday - like the test line is pulling from the control. Does that mean this is true positive and not yesterday? I get back in town on Friday. Perhaps there will still be a chance to BD in our window? 🤔

  27. LAZB

    pomegranate / 3904 posts

@yellowbeach: I’m sure @Kaohinani: knows better than I, but when I had my first positive opk this month, it was in the evening, and the one I took the next morning was darker, so I counted the day after that as O (so I’m thinking I’m 8 dpo instead of 9 dpo like ff says). So, I would count tomorrow for O for you, but what do I know lol

  28. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@cyoung: How did your appointment go? Any results? I hope you begin to feel better soon.

  29. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@yellowbeach: Hmmm, tough call! 🤔Yesterday could have been the start of the surge but today is the actual surge OR you are having a long surge and should count yesterday as a positive and only acknowledge today as the middle-to-end which would begin your ovulatory phase. 🧐 Looking at your temps, I would assume either you ovulated yesterday OR you are ovulatory atm and will have ANOTHER large rise tomorrow. If you DTD tomorrow, you'd have a small chance for sperm to meet egg before it degrades ... That is, if it wasn't already fertilized from your day 15 interlude 😉💋😉💋! Good luck!

@Kaohinani: I actually went to the doctors appointment and they said they didnt need to draw blood cause I had already went back to normal levels. They said they would call me later with what it was ans what not. I'll find out if I still need an ultrasound. I really wasnt surprised tbh cause my tests are negative.

  33. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@cyoung: I am still so sorry for your loss; however, you are SO lucky as it USUALLY takes much longer for all of the HCG to leave the body and one's cycle to move on as quickly as yours has.

  34. Sams Mom

    grapefruit / 4492 posts

@Kaohinani: Tomorrow is my last day of Provera! I have had some trippy ass dreams on it the last week and a half, so I won't be sad to see that go. I did just realize that this purgatory is going to totally mess with my tracking apps because they think I should be ovulating now ish, even though I won't be, and then I will be starting a new period.

I forced the issue and took my son to the doctor yesterday because he had had diarrhea for 5 days, and of course he starts feeling his wheaties while waiting for the doctor to see us. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's on the uphill, but way to make me look crazy Sam.

Speaking of Sam, he has been in his own bed throughout the night for 5 days, and according to my sleep app I'm finally getting good sleep for the first time in ever which is good. But then my husband had to chime in last night and tell me I'm looking good (which would have been fine if he stopped there), but then followed it up with you have looked wore down/ragged for a long time and that is why I started pushing you to get Sam into his own bed a year ago... I could have killed him

    apricot / 469 posts

@Kaohinani: yeah I've noticed my body is very regular and no matter what goes on my body always get back on track pretty quick. I think my hcg went back to normal saterday cause my tests were negative. I am fortunate for that. It sucks it happened but it just wasnt meant to be. Itll all work out when it's time I think.

I'm curious to why my temp was so high this morning especially if my hcg is back to normal. I'm also super bloated this morning. Like bad. Idk my opk looks lighter this morning. Who knows. I honestly think this cycle will probably be a weird one. I've heard some women would have a chemical and then have a period 2 weeks later cause they O right after for some reason. I thinks that's pretty rare but idk if that's why my temp is so high. Sorry for writing novels

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@Sams Mom: Well, I'm glad Sam is feeling better! (Of course, he did the normal kid thing and made the mom look crazy ... it is similar to bringing my Jeep into the mechanic when it's running "weird," only for it to run perfectly fine for them! Ugh! 😒) Extra cheers for one last day on Provera!!! 👏
As for DH's comment, it appears most hubbys suffer from "foot-in-mouth-swallow-up-past-thigh" syndrome. Mine does this on the daily. He means well but, man, I find I want to toss things at his head regularly for the stupid slip ups that spill from his lips. They need alerts or remotes installed to stop them from saying "innocently offensive" things. 🤣😂

@cyoung: Whatever is going to happen is going to be unique to you and your cycle. Everyone and every CP is different. Yours was SO early that, perhaps, it may just continue on like a "funky" cycle this month. In all honesty, you won't know until it is over. Hoping for the best.

🧙‍♀️🧝‍♂️🎃🦇🕸 Happy Halloween, ladies! 🕷🧟‍♀️🧟‍♂️💀👽 What are your plans for this evening? Trick-or-treating, parties, handing out candy, or staying in and avoiding all the spooky nightcrawlers? 😉

@Yellowbeach: - I know you are out-of-town; but will you be able to Skype or message with your DD and DH?

@Paranundrum: I know you do not celebrate, but, if you could dress up as ANYTHING/ANYONE, who or what would it be?
