Saw this on Facebook and just had to post it here. LOL!
Of course, it goes on deaf ears in my house. DH got excited when he saw the Christmas decorations up in Target.

Agreed, Turkey. While I adore Christmas, it's overkill. They've been stocking holiday decor since early October, and it just ruins the magic.

@deerylou: Kmart had their fake tree display up in mid-Sept. And yesterday they were playing Christmas music in Kohl's.
I'm all about Christmas, but Thankgiving is my favorite holiday and I want to give it it's proper due.

Agreeeeed. Especially from the non celebrating camp. Whatever happened to the day after thanksgiving being the beginning of the season?!

And that's why Canadian Thanksgiving rocks. October is for Thanksgiving and Halloween....and November AND December are for Christmas! It alllll works!

@lovehoneybee: I'm with you. Thanksgiving is my very favorite. I don't like hearing Christmas carols in the stores til Dec!

I am a HUGE Christmas person and I start counting down in like September, BUT I do agree that it's annoying to see it so early. It kinda makes everyone over it by the time December gets here and that makes me sad
This year, the holidays will probably be a blur for us (baby will be here in 11 days or less), but I still think there should be a time for each holiday. I LOVE Christmas, but there's something about the day after Thanksgiving that makes it even more exciting. At this point, I've already seen decorations for 2 or so weeks and that kinda takes away from the fun of it.

@redsmarties: @tinyperson: nope, I hate seeing Christmas stuff in November. If it was up to me, holiday stuff would be allowed for just two wks prior. A whole two months, no thanks!

I used to totally agree, but one of the nice things about giving birth in November was that it felt like everyone was celebrating with me because all the Christmas stuff was up. Everything just felt so nice and special. Now she's turning one it feels the same way . So I kind of like the November Christmas, lol.

The turkey is wrong! November is for celebrating Thanksgiving AND Christmas - it's the holiday season!
Bring on the Christmas carols!

I totally agree!! However, I was at my Target today and noticed that the Christmas section was still completely empty and they were clearing out Halloween stuff. I wanted to say "What's wrong with you slackers! Don't you know the Christmas trees are supposed to be up already??"

bahaha I love both. But holiday decor in October is a bit much. I do feel bad that in recent years retail has totally skipped over Thanksgiving!

Meh I'm embracing it I won't decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving but that doesn't mean I can't start thinking/getting excited about it!

@travelgirl1: yes! I was due 12/15 and every early Christmas decoration made my heart skip a beat. Every time I heard Mariah's 'all I want for Christmas is you', I'd bawl.. Ooh pregnancy hormones, haha

Thanksgiving is OKAY. I love all holidays and I look forward to a special menu but my husband is not into TG at all. There isn't enough music or fun prep involved for me. Not to mention the way we screwed over the native Americans. I used to HATE early Xmas too though because I felt like it was gonna ruin the specialness and it was gonna feel too damn long to start it so early. Ever since I've had my son I am a convert to the other side. The days seem to go so fast. I need extra time to plan an prep and I want to be able to really fully enjoy it. I want more days to revel in it!

No Xmas tree or decorations go up though. I may put some lights up. We shall see.

No thanksgiving here so we're right into Christmas in the stores... I feel like this year is flowing past so quickly that I'm not too upset about having extra time to soak in Christmas spirit. Tree doesn't go up until the 1st of December though!

Around here they had Christmas trees up before Halloween! That was a little much!

October is for Thanksgiving!
We don't put up Christmas decorations until December though.
