I have my NT scan on Friday, and I'm just wondering how quickly I'll get the results. I know that they do blood work, so I won't get those results right away, but what about the ultrasound? If they see something alarming, will they tell me at my appointment Friday? If not, how long did you wait to get your results?

I guess it depends on if you do it at your doctor's office or a different sonogram office. I did mine at my doctor's office so he told me right then everything looked good. WIth my anatomy scan, it was at another office, and then I had an appointment right after and he met with me to say everything looks good.

The scan is at my doctor's office. The ultrasound is with a tech, and then I have an appointment scheduled with my doctor immediately after.

My NT scan was a combo of ultrasound and bloodwork. The bloodwork needed to be sent to a special lab. I had my ultrasound on a Wednesday and the tech told me everything looked good to her. And then Monday my doctor called and confirmed that everything in the scan and the bloodwork came back normal.

I had my NT scan 4 weeks ago and don't get my official results until this Thursday. I looked at all the numbers though so I know it's fine, and I figure they would have called me in if there was a problem.

We got ours on a Friday...we knew everything on the ultrasound looked good right then, and I think I got a call back from the hospital the following Wednesday or Thursday with the results of the bloodwork. She was actually just going to tell me that everything was within a normal range, but I insisted on hearing the numbers, lol.
ETA: I also got it done at the hospital we'll be delivering at, not at my doctor's office, so I don't know if that'll make a difference or not.

for us, they had us do the 1st blood draw 1-2 weeks before the scan. then immediately after the scan we met with a dr and he told us our results from the 1st blood draw and scan. for the 2nd blood draw, my drs office called me a couple days later to tell me everything was good.

i'm just curious if you can always find out the sex of the baby after the NT scan. was it offered to you? how is this done - via blood work on the day of the ultrasound, with results 1-2 weeks later?

We got a call about 4 days later that all was well with bloodwork and the scan measurements. We didn't do the Harmony test that will tell gender, but we were able to see that we are most likely having a boy from the ultrasound. The tech said she doesn't typically check then, but we had a little extra time and said pretty please, so she gave us a sneak peek.

@SupernovaJ: If I understand your question correctly, you want to know about finding out gender? They generally tell you at the ultrasound, if they can get a good shot of the right region. I know there is some blood test that can confirm gender too. Not sure which one because we always had gender confirmed at ultrasounds.

@SupernovaJ: From what I remember, the NT scan doesn't look for the sex of the baby. The ultrasound tech will take measurements and look at the baby's neck. That, combined with blood will determine the change of any chromosomal abnormalities. The anatomy scan is (usually) at 20 weeks. Now, there is a different test that is strictly a blood test that will do a lot of the same testing as the NT scan, but it will also be able to tell the gender of the baby. I've heard it called several names, including Harmony and Panorama.

@SupernovaJ: We're Team Green and at our NT scan, we wanted to make sure to tell them just in case but the tech said that they wouldn't tell anyone even if they could tell. So that's another side of it.
