I haven't bought nursery furniture, but I did buy an unfinished wood coffee table with matching end tables and they are great! I priced them around at different stores and they were much cheaper through Amazon. I'm actually surprised at how nice they turned out to be.

I bought my crib and wardrobe off amazon. They were both in great condition and I am happy with them. I always read tons of reviews before ordering anything big, a lot of the time you will see multiple complaints about missing parts, or being damaged upon arrival.

We bought a crib off Amazon and we love it. The brand was Babyletto (they sell this brand at lots of stores though, not just amazon).

@CatLady: I bought our Babyletto crib and change table/dresser off Amazon.ca, as well. I'd priced them out in a local store, and ended up getting them cheaper and faster on Amazon. No issues with the quality or delivery.
@WinterBee: When buying off Amazon, I try to view them physically first in a local store (for big items),, but if that's not possible, I just go off of reviews.

I purchased both our crib and glider from Amazon and am very happy with both. I chose my items based on reviews, from both Amazon and outside sources. It is important to note that i feel like i got what I paid for in both situations - we are likely one and done so i wasn't looking for heirloom quality pieces. the items were affordable and reasonably good quality.
