LO will be born late April/early May, and I'm just now realizing that my summer staples probably won't work for nursing. Summers here are really hot and humid, so usually I wear a lot of dresses. I figured I would do that this summer as well, since I'll also be trying to hide a postpartum body. Any particular brands/lines that you like for nursing attire? I'd rather not spend a fortune.

I don't have any great advice. Just wanted to say I wouldn't spend or buy too much. I had my heart set on breastfeeding but it just didn't work out for me. So all my nursing stuff (only 3 bras) weren't used much.

I bought tops mostly from Japanese Weekend's nursing or during and after line (pregnancy and postpartum breastfeeding friendly). They aren't cheap but they are high quality and I wore them to work without issue. http://www.japaneseweekend.com/

I purchased on "nursing" top and that's it.I've been looking for summer tops/dresses that are empire waist with cross over tops. Or deep necklines so I can wear a tank underneath.
Same as I did with maternity I'm not planning on buying a lot of nursing specific clothing.

My LO is 3 mos old, and I'm breastfeeding. I don't have that many nursing clothes, mostly hand-me-downs and a couple of tanks I bought. I do have a Majamas bra that I like to wear overnight. I only have one nursing bra with the snaps, it might be nice to have a second but I don't feel like I need many more than that. Also, there is something I think is called the Undercover Mama tank (or something) it is basically a tank top without the straps and you can hook it to any nursing bra, so your belly stays covered up and you can wear it under any top, that makes it easier to wear your regular clothes. I have one but haven't worn it yet.
I will say that I've surprised myself by not nursing in public very much, not because I am embarrassed but because we just don't need to. We are pretty strict about DS's nap schedule so we mostly take short trips, and many of the places we go (like family and friends' homes) I'm able to just go in another room and lift my shirt without worrying about it.
Check out the clothes you have already - some things might work. Also look at the blog Ain't No Mom Jeans - I LOVE this blog and they have lots of fashion tips for nursing mamas.

I didn't need to buy much more than basics for pregnancy, but I just can't figure out how to make some of my summer dresses work for nursing... I'm certainly not going to be lifting them up from the bottom and they can't be pulled down
I guess I really just want like 3 dresses that will work. Old Navy/Gap was my go-to for maternity basics, but their nursing friendly stuff is just ugly.

I have it in black (from a previous year) and I love it. You could wear this as a strapless dress, maybe with a light shirt over it, also it is great as a skirt so you could wearwhatever top you want. I wore it pre-pregnancy, while pregnant, and will be wearing it this summer while nursing too.
