4th of July is over a week away and it sounded like a bomb just went off behind our house and now our dogs are freaking out to boot. And we are the old people saying "Is that even legal?"
Do you get the joy of listening to illegal fireworks for the weeks leading up to the fourth?

Oh yes. Our neighborhood backs up to a large rural area, and even though it is still in the city limits and therefore illegal, we hear tooooons of fireworks on the 4th and NYE.
I'm actually really bummed that we probably won't get to watch 'real' fireworks because I'll probably be in labor or the hosp lol..especially since they cancelled them last year due to a burn ban! (which didn't stop the illegal fireworks...ugh!)

Nope. It freaks me out because theirs no organization to it. They started setting them off last night.

@Bookworm: Is there a good view at your hospital!? If we had been in the hospital on a holiday we actually would have seen fireworks because we had a really good view of downtown.

We had one go off. At 3:30AM. DD woke up crying and I wanted to punch the idiot who thought that was a good idea.

I think people are scared to do it in our neighborhood bc there are so many cops (like my DH) that live here. My dogs are terrified of fireworks!

We're out in the county...we hear fireworks year round no matter what. It just increases around the firework holidays, cause prices go down, lol

@grizz: We are totally going to be the people calling the cops! 
I know in IN they can only do them until 11:00pm and someone 18 has to be present. Plus they were pretty much doing it right behind our house and not on their property. God I am old!

Fireworks go off in our neighborhood from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It's only mildly annoying.
