...Liza?
Like Eliza, but without the E. I love the name Eliza, but I think if we had one, we would just end up calling her Liza anyway. Plus, Eliza seems to be pronounced differently by different people, like ee-lize-uh, eh-lize-uh, uh-lize-uh....etc.

I prefer eliza, with or without the nn Liza. I actually think people would be more likely to mispronounce Liza, but I could be wrong.

Liza takes me to Liza Minelli, but if you don't mind the association, I think it's fine. I always prefer having the bigger name in their formal title.

Liza is my cat's name :). I actually do prefer Eliza for a little kid because liza is reminiscint of liza Minnelli (which is how we thought of the cat's name)

Love Liza! I know a Liza which is short for Elizabeth, but I like it as a stand alone name too.

I'd go with Eliza over Liza. It reminds me of Almanzo's sister's name in the Little House on the Prairie Books.

It was in the running for DD's name! It reminds me of the little kids song. Very pretty and erases pronunciation problems.

I prefer Eliza. I think you could run into people pronouncing it Lie-za or Lee-za.

I'm not a fan of names that are already basically nicknames, because I changed mine several times growing up (Beth to Elizabeth to Lizzie to Liz), and would have really resented not being able to. Also, I think you'll get a lot of people who are confused and think you said/meant Eliza. Agree that I prefer it as a nickname for Elizabeth.

I'm still not sure of the pronunciation for Liza. LEE-za or LIE-za? I'd have the same pronunciation issues I'd have with Eliza! I prefer Eliza though.

I'm partial to Eliza but that's my daughters name sooooo 
I think giving her some flexibility with nicknames when she's older is a pro for the longer version- my name can't be turned into anything or shortened and it always bummed me out as a kid.

One of my best friends is named Liza, so that's the connection for me. Eliza was a boss who was awful to me, so... yeah, I strongly prefer Liza!
