I have a quote from Enterprise for a week around $500 in a compact car.
Does anyone else have a better recommendation?

@stiletto_mom: Do you have a costco membership? Usually Costco beats any deals I've gotten quotes for. Plus, they include your spouse as a driver for free.

@stiletto_mom: priceline! I have never paid more than $30 dollars per day for a car

@Mamaof2: Even in Disney? I usually like to get it that low but Disney was tough to get it that low. Though, I was going at one of the peak times. I did end up renting a large SUV for about $50 a day.

@bluestriped bee: I did a quick search for Orlando airport and got compacts from $24-29 a day 3rd week in June

@Mamaof2: Oh, ok. We went in August. I think it was a considered high peak time.
I checked. I got a large SUV for $50 a day and I booked it through Undercover Tourist. I got my Disney tickets and car rental at the same time. I think there was some sort of discount for buying them both. I'm sure I check prices at Costco and since I booked it with Undercover Tourist, I'm sure they had the best price.

Definitely check Costco's prices if you have a membership. We saved a lot of money renting a car through them on our last vacation.

Not in Florida, but I always use Enterprise and have never had to pay $500 for a compact car. My husband pays upwards of $500/week for a full-size truck (through his employer, they have a contract), but I would see if you can sign up as an executive member or whatever their free rewards program is and at least earn miles toward a free rental later on.

I don't have Costco, and we'll be flying in from Canada so we'd have to have airport pick up and drop off unfortunately.
I'll take a look at priceline. I can google, of course, but would like to know if someone has had good experiences tried and true.

@stiletto_mom: Definitely check out Undercover Tourist, too.

priceline or autoslash usually beats Costco...good thing about costco is free cancellation and second driver is free (read the fine print, just in case they changed it)

The only car rental company I’ll rent from is National. We’re going to CA later this month for 10 days and for that period our rental is less than $500 and a midsize or SUV rental.
Was your quote in USD or CAD? That might make a difference.
Certainly any of the travel aggregation websites can help you price check.
