@locavore_mama: LO calls your dog "dobby??" That is friggin adorable, except it brings to mind this guy:

We bought one with three snowman (two adult and one baby) from a mall kiosk.

I shared mine already! It's an ornament we got in honour of our passed on pup, Findley, who died in March... We miss him so much.

That dobby ornament is simultaneously the most hideous and adorable thing I've ever seen haha!!

@babyjmama: I know, I am not sure how I feel about it myself o_O It was the best I could find, though! lol!

I've been trying to create the same tradition, but I get one each for the kids. I'm having a hard time looking for what I want. Where do you get your ornaments? I would like to get one of a scooter and one of a bicycle. I'm not sure where to look.

We try to get a Christmas ornament or knick-knack from each place we travel. This year we got a handmade wooden snowman for our "snowman forest" from Prague! I love being able to see all the fun places we've been over the years. Last year we didn't travel so we got a "our first house" kind of ornament, so there is something to mark each year's activities.

@BoogieBea: I'd check Crate and Barrel, Cost Plus, Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn... they all have cute ornaments.

@locavore_mama: now you've put a bug in my ear. I think I need to find a ladybug ornament.

We do the same thing - at least one new special one each year. This year we bought ours on the great wall in China. I got one of our dog the year we got him and one from New Orleans when we got married. All of them were from little touristy spots.
