I used to volunteer at a camp for kids on ventilators, and we had one little girl (5yo) with SB. She was the light of the camp! She rode around in a little red wagon and just made everyone laugh - she had an amazing spirit about her and the world's best giggle! She wasn't ambulatory, and needed O2 through a trach, but she didn't let any of that stop her - even at 5 she was a force to be reckoned with!! She was such an inspiration, and one of the reasons that I went into medical social work!

I am so sorry for your hard decision to make. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. But rest assured you will make the best decision. No matter what decision you make,, you may feel doubt, but just remind yourself, the decision was made out of LOVE for this child.

Oh my goodness. I'm still slightly in disbelief and if that's me I can only imagine how you feel. I'm so, so sorry you're going through this right now. Even though it isn't rational, I'm hoping there was a mistake somewhere. I don't know what I would do in your place especially since there doesn't seem to be a "good" decision.
