If you've read my posts before, you know I live in a 1950's home that does not work for our current family size. I've posted a lot about it but the short run down is we put the house on the market in November, got a good offer, put an offer on a brand new home and it was accepted, and then my neighbor tried to derail our plans by chopping down our giant maple haha and leaving a mess all over our backyard which we were able to quickly clean up and thankfully did not affect our buyer's decision. We also put 5k into repairs from the inspection for the buyer.
But our streak of bad luck continues! We are set to close TOMORROW on both homes and I went upstairs to pack a closet up and low and behold there is a six inch square of wet drywall in the ceiling of the closet. We have had a snowstorm and rainstorm of epic proportions the last few days and the leak is right by the flashing for our fireplace and since we have a new roof it's probably faulty leaking flashing. But still!!! This could cancel the deal entirely and either way we certainly won't be fully moved into our new home on Thursday like I was anticipating.
I called our agent and am waiting to hear back. I'm so frustrated and mentally drained from this process. There are no words.
Thanks for the sympathy.
