I'm going to need more info on this! Is this your house moving, or a house you bough being moved to your land??

I'm with @MrsTiz: what's happening here... did you just order a house or is it an old one being transported?

We live down the street from a place that makes those houses. We always see them (and get stuck behind them). Yay that your house is there!

Yeah... what?! Why is it taking a whole year before you can have it?

@MrsTiz: @illumina: It's a house we got that's being moved onto family property! The only cost to us was moving it (the people needed it off their land & were fixing to demo it).
@swurlygurl: It needs quite a bit of work, but for 16k (the cost to move it) we, as in my family (mom & grandma who like to renovate houses), couldn't pass it up!
@artbee: Lol! It came from about 30 minutes away AND sat on the side of the road for 3 days due to an issue with the city... I'm sure other drivers weren't too thrilled to get stuck behind it either. Lol

@runsyellowlites: sooo, forgive my ignorance, this is unlike anything I've seen over here before... does the house not have foundations? How you do you attach it to the ground?

@runsyellowlites: Oh, well that sounds like an incredible deal, and a year full of fun projects!

@illumina: It'll be pier & beam, what you may see ALOT of old houses on. Tbh it's actually what we prefer bc we never have to worry about foundation issues! It can always be re-leveled!
I'm not quite sure how its done since I've only seen it when a house was *built* but sometime between now & the next week the guy moving it will get the foundation done (the cement columns) & get the house on them & leveled!
I'm clueless too but just goin with it! Lol

My dad used to "move" houses for a living. I always thought it was so crazy.

Wow! That is so crazy and cool! I've driven behind half of a house once and totally tripped! You don't see "houses" on the move every day! Congrats!
