what do you do when your infant starts to "outgrow" their infant tub? do you just put them in your regular tub and watch them try to crawl around in the tubful of water now that they are not confined to a small space?

@butterbean: After LO outgrew her infant tub, we got this one, which was recommended by another bee. We love it, it's pretty big.

@betsyboop: I should have just had that one from the start! I looks awesome.
We're having the same problem too... outgrowing her infant tub

My son still uses his infant tub, he'll be 3 in December. He just sits up in it...I guess I never saw the point of getting anything bigger.

@swurlygurl: That's what I thought too, why didn't we buy that one from the get go?!

@betsyboop: we have that one, and have been using it from day 1! LO is 13 months now, and we put that tub in the big tub. she's starting to stand in it, though...

I just put a washcloth in the bottom of the tub and have DS sit upright in the tub, freestyle.

We're not quite ther yet, but a good friend who has a four year old gifted me one of these and said it was the best thing when her son was too big for the infant tub but not yet ready to be in the full-size tub: http://www.toysrus.com/buy/toddlers-kids/bathing/bath-tubs/munchkin-inflatable-yellow-duck-tub-32206-3331853

We got this from ikea:

It's perfect! Keeps LO contained, but roomy enough for toys, books, etc. and it has non-stick pads on the bottom inside and out so I feel it's very safe.
Oh, and you can't beat the $7.99 price tag

We switched to the big tub, more like jacuzzi. DH sits in there with LO during baths because we were nervous about the slipping. LO loves the big tub. When we visit my parents, we bathe him in the kiddie pool sometimes too.

We bought the same tub as @heartonastring: I thought it was pretty silly when my sister showed it to me, but we love it. It's nice to not have to fill up the whole tub for each bath. It was great before M was a steady sitter and it's still good for us now at 11 months. We also deflated it once to travel for a week, so that was convenient.

We went straight to the big tub, for the first few months I took a bath with her until I trusted her sitting by herself.

We've been using the inflatable ducky tub that @heartonastring: linked to since LO could sit up at 5 months and absolutely LOVE it.

If you want a good "in between" tub that's cheap, this is a nice one. Also portable!
