Did anyone do those oversized shirts for the first day of school "class of 20XX" with handprints on the back?

How do I decide what size shirt to buy? My friend will make a set for me with her circuit but yummmm how do I guess size? Do most ppl buy like adult large?

Also....acrylic paint for hand prints, right?
