I bought a used dress a few days ago and when I got it home I noticed some stains. I soaked it in a bucket with oxyclean and hot water and after 12 hours, the stains were gone! Amazing! Billy Mays was right!
I didn't realize you could soak colorful items in it until recently. If only I had known this trick when M was a spit up machine baby...

@mediagirl: I got loads of hand me down baby clothes that had yellowish stains around the neck. Soaked them all in a tub of oxyclean and it almost all came out perfect.

Just don't soak dark colors with light colors. I soaked a teal shirt with some of Rs clothes and her pieces are ruined. The color bled. One was my fav pink and white leggings on her

@Smurfette: oh no! I'm sorry! Great tip, though. I had to soak 3 things this weekend and had 3 different buckets going in the tub because I was afraid of that!

While I have the attention of stain gurus 
.... Any tips on what to do next if oxiclean doesn't work? DD thoughtfuly mopped up a spill......with a throw pillow. The cover is (was) white with teal and line embroidery which bled all over the white. RIT dye remover?

@Smurfette: I did this the other day. I was able to rinse out the color from the white, luckily, but I think it was just a fabric that doesn't hold color as well. I need to be more careful!

@PinkElephant: id take it to a dry cleaner! That one might be a loss.
I keep oxy in the kitchen cabinet with the spices I use it so much, ha!
