Did anyone’s LO go through pacifier refusal while teething? If so, was is temporary or permanent? My poor kiddo just had two teeth cut through with a few more on the way. Hoping to hear that there’s a chance he may take his paci again! The sleepless nights without it are no fun...

I’m in the camp that you are going to have sleepless nights at this age anyway, so you might as well lose the paci vs risking having a dependency issue down the line.
I was at a play space today and there was a 4 year old with a paci in his mouth. I wouldn’t want to have to try to remove a paci dependency from a 2 or 3 year old. Not funMaybe try one of the silicone teethers in the interim?
Like the comotomo one or this. It’s the current fave in our house and you won’t have dependency issues.

I actually said the same thing to my DH today too about dropping it (we had a hard time with my older kiddo), so we’ll see what happens. He uses the wubbanubs, and he does still chew on the animal part, so I’ll prob just leave them in the crib and see what happens! Thanks for the input

@Mamag511: maybe try cutting off the paci part? That way he can still self soothe with the lovey. I’ve given both of my kids small loveys in the crib at about 6 months and it really helps. They love to chew them.

Mine flat out refused his from 4 months onward... not sure if it was because of teething, but he never let it back in his mouth.
Kinda broke my heart.

Totally agree with @Littlebit7: that this is a good chance to ditch the paci. I never gave one to either of my kids because I dreaded having to wean them off of it one day. He will find something else to soothe him—maybe a lovey, his hands, etc.
