I'm going crazy with trying to figure out what to do with the pacifier. Baby Deer is 8 weeks old and can't keep her pacifier in her mouth well. She thrusts it out with her tongue or just loses a hold on it after a minute or two. We've tried different ones and she likes MAMs the best. I tried a wubbanub but she doesn't like the soothie pacifier on it. I tried making my own by attaching a beanie baby to her MAM but it didn't help. I think the problem is that she wants it to fall asleep, but then pops it out to sleep. The second it pops out she startles and wants it back in though. So naptime I end up going back in like 15 times. She'll sometimes fall asleep without it, but will wake after 40ish minutes screaming for it. My toddler is getting really upset that our playtime is constantly interrupted and I'm getting zero downtime in my day. I've tried seeing if she'd happily nap in the swing instead of taking a pacifier in her crib but she hated it.

My first wouldn't take a pacifier and I was so excited that it might work out this time around with my second, but it's becoming a nightmare. I want to throw it away but she's too young to CIO. Yet I can't spend 20 minutes rocking her to sleep with a toddler too (which she'll wakeup after 40 minutes anyway - and the pacifiers in play again).

Any advice? Anyone find a trick that worked? Did your baby finally just figure it out? Sorry my description is kind of a mess, SOOO sleep deprived.
