Man, I am in the same boat. I have an 11 day old and my almost three year old has been good about not taking her things. But there's something about the pacifier that is so tempting to him he can't help but stick it in his mouth...and I'm usually nursing or stuck so all I can do is yell. So no advice, just commiseration.

Dd1 went through this for a couple of weeks after dd2 came along. She hadn't used a soother since she was 6 months old so i think she was just fascinated by it. I kind of just rided it out - didn't pay her much attention and it died down. We only use the Wubbanubs which are too big for her to suck on while playing so she got bored pretty quickly. Now she loves to get the soother for her baby sister and stick it in her mouth lol. She's not exactly gentle while shoving it in the baby's mouth but she's trying to help

@Foodnerd81: for us they aren't because of their size ... She did find a random normal soother around once and played with it all day in her mouth which annoyed me. I threw it out the first chance I got! The Wubbanubs she dropped after a few minutes because she would get distracted by something else

E did this a lot at first! She wanted the big reaction. Once I started just taking it from her with zero emotion, it lost its appeal. Took awhile, though. Oh and I changed hers to a pink one. Now hers is pink (sleep only!) and T's is green. And if T was crying, I'd say "he's crying because you took his mimi!" And that bothered her, so she'd give it to him to make him stop crying and I'd make a big deal out of her giving it to him. Eventually, the positive reinforcement won out, I think
