So you know how you tell toddlers to "use your words" when they are just whining and melting down?
Well DD wanted me to bug off when I was asking her some questions this morning, so she said to me "those are all the words that I have now." And turned away.
This kid kills me!!!!!!
Have you had any parenting backfire moments lately? I have tons now that she is 3. I don't think I am smarter than a 3 year old!!

Yes I did have a backfire lately. We were in a store and W was looking at one of those reuseable squeezy pouches that had superheros on it. Like, he wouldn't leave it alone. So I was all, "BYE! I'm leaving." And he just lifted up his precious little hand, waved goodbye and kept looking at the pouch. The saleslady cracked up. Guess he called my bluff.
PS we ended up buying the STUPID squeezy pouch. Not because of any tantrums but because my husband liked it.

@sloaneandpuffy: oh no to buying the pouch anyway. Haha! I hate when they call your bluff. She called my bluff the other day when I said I was going to throw away her toy for being naughty. She said "ok, let me help you." Gaaaaaah!!!!

@Andrea: THAT'S AMAZING about the toy. You better watch out for that kid. I have a feeling if my baby daughter could talk yet she'd be saying #$%T like that. Oh the joys that await us! Who says girls don't have more tude than boys??

Haha I don't have a toddler yet but one of my grad school teachers said the same thing..don't ask them to use words they don't have yet. I think it's hilarious that your dd said that! I have a feeling my dd will be the same way, little miss know it all.

That's hilarious! And you're right, her little sister might pick up the same attitude and then some. My younger one has become much more difficult at 2 than her brother was. She's just learning (all the bad behavior) so much faster from watching her brother.
