Would you prefer having your parents or in laws visit you, or do you prefer to visit them? And why?

For me, there are pros and cons. Both of our families live either a flight or an 8-10 hour drive away, so getting there is quite a production. Then, baby is out if her comfort zone and naps and night time sleep usually get much worse. It's hard to lug all the stuff you need for the baby in a car and impossible on a flight. On the upside, you (hopefully) get to enjoy someone else's cooking. But in my case (MSPI mamma) that is more stressful than enjoyable.

Having them come to us is much easier for baby. But then involves lots of pre cleaning, continual cleaning up after more people, more cooking (which also means more shopping $$).

And finally, while I think I am actually a very good host, my mother is still the BEST host and if I were to make 2 desserts for guests, if we were at her house, we'd have 5. I would have cute table decor, but her holiday decor would be amazing.
