I'd wait, I got good deals closer to Christmas last year

They always go on sale. I personally can't wait, though and have regretted it when I wait because certain things will sell out.

They do always go on sale, but some styles sell out pretty quickly. Things on PBK are also back ordered pretty regularly. I am still waiting on a Halloween costume that I ordered in August That said, they've never missed a seasonal deadline for me, but I've have a few down to the wire experiences. If that doesn't bother you, wait for the sale!

To give you a ball park, I ordered the velvet stocking with ivory cuff from PB and paid $16.50 each with free monogramming and free shipping on November 21 which was the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I think they went a tiny bit lower after that but whatever the difference was wasn't enough for me to even waste my time for a price adjustment, maybe $16?

ETA- they were originally $22.50 and I bought medium which is a pretty standard stocking size, the sizes were so confusing!

@meadow: Ends up I also ordered a stocking on November 21st last year (Wednesday before Thanksgiving - I'm guessing someone on the boards posted about a sale?).. it was the Chanel Quilted Velvet Stocking (varied colors) with monogramming and I paid $14.66 each with free shipping. It appears that they arrived at my house on November 26th - so 5 days shipping and they were monogrammed!
