Have you ever heard of a pediatric nurse practitioner being billed as a specialist, instead of a primary care provider? We go to a pediatrics practice but our primary provider for the girls in a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She's amazing. But I got a couple of bills now with the specialist copay. I called the insurance and they say that's right, but that seems really dumb since a NP is usually cheaper for the insurance than a doctor.

Has anyone ever heard of this? It doesn't sound right to me but they are correcting another billing issue first so I'm waiting on fighting it.
