Had my D&C yesterday and now I have some more questions for lovely ladies of the hive...
1. How long was it before you got your period back after miscarriage?
2. Were your cycles similar to before miscarriage? Mine used to be 35-40 days so I really fear some crazy 50+ day ones.
3. If you got pregnant again, how many cycles did it take? Was it a successful pregnancy?

My period came 28 days after my miscarriage. I then had another 28 day cycle where we did not TTC on my doctor's advice. Then we tried again the next cycle, got pregnant and has a healthy full term baby nine months later.

Mine was a little different since it had to be a delivery since we were so far along. I started exactly a month after our delivery. My periods were sort of the same, but I would have regular days of my cycle, like 4-5 days, and then I'd stop, but then start again 5 days later for a few days. It went on like that for several months. We lost our daughter in late March, started again late April, were given the green light to try again in May, really didn't feel like I had a 'normal' cycle until August. I don't know if my body was still confused or what. We didn't get pregnant until February and we to Monday to see if everything is all good.

I didn't have a D+C because my m/c was very early and my body dealt with everything itself. I got my period the following cycle, like clockwork, and it was exactly the same as it had been before. I got pregnant again the cycle after that and, touch wood, everything's going well.

2. No, I had very regular 28 day cycles and now they are 24-30. I also used to have heavy days and then light. Now it is heavy stops for a day or two sometimes and continues to be heavy.
3. Not KU yet. Five cycles trying.

1. Took 41 days
2. I got KU right off Bc so we didn't have time to notice that I had PCOS. My cycles ore d&c were 32 days. After they ranged from 28-49. Was diagnosed 6 months later and put on clomid.
3. We are finally pregnant again 9 months later but my story id weird due to PCOS.

1. It took a long 10 weeks! However, I didn't have a D&C and had some stuff leftover so my HCG didn't go down to 0 for a long time.
2. I had whacky cycles before getting pregnant, 30-54 days. Stayed whacky afterwards.
3. I got pregnant again on our second cycle!

It took a full month for my period to come back after miscarriage. My cycles were irregular, but I think my body was still adjusting to having periods again postpartum. The longest cycle I recorded was 35 days, which was 2 months after my miscarriage. My DH and I decided to take a break from trying to conceive (about 9 months), and we were able to conceive on the first try. I don't know if it will be successful, but I am currently 5 weeks along.

My cycle post m/c (no d&c) was crazy long, 102 days. We intended to wait a cycle to try again, but because it was so long we decided to see what happened. We got pregnant with our daughter that ridiculously long cycle!

1. After first m/c, it took 7 weeks. With this last one, it was less than 4 weeks.
2. I had long cycles before m/c, but afterwards, they were a very regular 28 days.
3 . It took us six cycles to get pregnant again after the first. Hoping this time goes a little quicker.

1. It took 35 days to get my period after the d&c.
2. My cycles are really crazy and long. Before and after the first pregnancy, they were 35-50 days long.
3. It took us 7 months (about 5 cycles). I'm only 4 weeks, but I'm praying this one will be successful.

No personal experience to related, but, I'm a GYN nurse. My office instructs women who've had 1st tri losses to expect their first post-pregnancy cycle to probably arrive 4-6 weeks from when the miscarriage started. Occasionally things can take up to 8 weeks, but, past 8 weeks we want someone to come back in.

I had a very early miscarriage (7 weeks) and my next cycle was right around my normal length, 25 days. We skipped that cycle but tried again the next cycle and I got pregnant with my son, who is now 7.5 months old.

About 7 weeks. I stopped ovulating, which was strange. I don't think that happens often, but know that it can. Very long cycles were a clue

1. About seven weeks
2. My cycles got a bit longer, and I had one that was around 60 days, but on average they were only 2-3 days longer. They also seemed heavier.
3. I had the d&c December 2, 2011; started January 19, 2012; started trying in May 2012; got BFP December 7, 2012. I'm now 17 weeks with everything going good so far.

It took 8 long weeks after my D&C to get my period and then I had typical for me 35 day cycle. I got pregnant again on our second cycle trying again.

1) Natural miscarriage, ~5 weeks
2) My normal cycle was 27 days. The first cycle following the miscarriage was about a week longer, but subsequent ones were back to 27 days.
3) I miscarried in early September and got pregnant again mid-November. Almost exactly 3 months between miscarrying and getting the next BFP.

1. It came back right in schedule - 28-29 days.
2. My cycles were 28-29 days... always. Now they're like 32-36 days.
3. Miscarried naturally at 7w4d in September, took the necessary 2 cycles off and still trying.

I took about 4 weeks to get my period. I was very regular and was still pretty regular after my d&c.... Until recently, since I'm breastfeeding. I had my first 54-day cycle....
I had my d&c in June 2010. Got pregnant w fertility treatment July 2011 and had my twins around this time last year.

@MamaMoose: I look to be starting my period today, what is exactly 28 days from D&C - never in my life have had this short of a cycle - just curious if you had 28 days periods normally before miscarriage or not?

@runnerd: I was actually closer to 31 days before the m/c so I was also really surprised when I had a 28 day cycle. I think sometimes a major change to your body can sort of reset your cycle.

For me (Mar 2012) it took 36 days to get my pd. again. And I was still getting fake-positives on hpts.
The first cycle after D&C was a little different. Very bad cramps that woke me up at night, and weird flow. Very watery. After that things seemed to go back to normal.
I finally just got my BFP a year later. Sucked that it took so long and I'm so nervous for this pregnancy.

@runnerd: I know its never fun to get AF but hopefully its a good sign that maybe you will have regular cycles now. Are you guys going TTC again?

I think my period came back about 4-5 weeks after the MC, and funny enough we got pregnant w/the next cycle (we weren't trying, just not preventing). Hugs to you.
